Electric commercial vehicle maker Youdha has unveiled a limited-edition version of its EPOD electric three-wheeler, called the EPOD-Bharat, at the Bharat Vyapar Mahotsav held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The vehicle was launched on August 17, 2026, featuring a specially hand-painted exterior inspired by traditional Warli tribal art.
Priced at ₹3.20 lakh, the EPOD-Bharat is based on Youdha's existing L5 electric passenger three-wheeler platform and offers a certified range of 227 kilometres on a single charge.
The biggest highlight of the limited-edition EPOD-Bharat is its hand-painted exterior. The artwork is inspired by Warli art, one of India's oldest tribal art traditions, originating from the Sahyadri mountain range and practised by the Warli people of Maharashtra's Western Ghats region.
The design features themes connected to women, rural life, nature and community. Warli art is widely recognised for its simple geometric shapes and traditionally monochromatic motifs that represent scenes from everyday life.
By using this traditional art form on a modern electric vehicle, Youdha aims to bring together India's cultural heritage and contemporary mobility technology. The launch at Bharat Vyapar Mahotsav also gave the special edition a major public platform before any wider rollout.
The EPOD-Bharat uses the same electric platform as Youdha's regular EPOD passenger three-wheeler. It comes with a 6 kW electric motor that produces 50 Nm of torque.
Power is supplied by an 11.8 kWh lithium-ion LFP battery, with the company claiming a certified range of 227 km per charge.
The electric three-wheeler also gets two driving modes:
City Mode for improved range efficiency
Boost Mode for stronger performance when required
These modes are designed to give drivers flexibility based on operating conditions, road conditions and performance requirements.
The EPOD-Bharat offers a 300 mm water-wading capacity, which can be useful for drivers operating in areas affected by waterlogging and uneven roads, especially during India's monsoon season.
This feature adds to the vehicle's suitability for commercial passenger mobility in urban and peri-urban areas where road conditions can vary significantly.
Youdha has priced the EPOD at ₹3.20 lakh and is targeting self-employed drivers and small mobility entrepreneurs.
The company is focusing on key requirements of commercial EV buyers, including long driving range, flexible driving modes and lower running costs compared with petrol or CNG alternatives. These factors have become increasingly important for operators involved in daily last-mile passenger transport.
The EPOD-Bharat itself is a limited-edition version and does not represent a change to the company's standard EPOD product lineup.
The EPOD is manufactured at Youdha's facility in Kashipur, Uttarakhand. The plant has an installed annual production capacity of 1 lakh units.
According to the company, the manufacturing facility includes:
Automated assembly lines
End-of-line testing facilities
Quality control infrastructure
The production capacity indicates Youdha's plans to support larger-scale electric vehicle manufacturing beyond the special limited-edition EPOD-Bharat.
Commenting on the launch, Ayush Lohia, CEO of Youdha, said the EPOD-Bharat was created as a tribute to Indian women and artisans.
He described the project as an effort to showcase traditional Indian art on a modern electric mobility platform, combining cultural expression with the growing shift towards electric transportation.
Youdha operates in both the electric passenger and cargo vehicle segments. The launch comes at a time when India's electric three-wheeler market continues to grow, supported by rising fuel prices, increasing demand for last-mile passenger and cargo transport, and government-backed incentives such as the FAME scheme.
Electric three-wheelers are becoming an increasingly important option for drivers and small entrepreneurs looking to reduce daily operating costs. With the EPOD-Bharat, Youdha has added a cultural and artistic identity to its existing electric mobility platform while retaining the core specifications of the standard EPOD.
The Youdha EPOD-Bharat combines electric mobility with India's traditional Warli art in a unique limited-edition three-wheeler. With a ₹3.20 lakh price, 227 km certified range, 6 kW motor, 11.8 kWh LFP battery, dual drive modes and 300 mm water-wading capacity, it is based on the company's established L5 passenger EV platform. The launch also highlights Youdha's focus on scaling electric passenger and cargo mobility in India.
