Farmers in Uttar Pradesh are facing losses from recent unseasonal rains and hailstorms and are getting a helping hand from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved Rs 23 crore to assist farmers in nine districts. The goal is to provide fast financial support to those who suffer from crop damage.
After strong winds and unexpected rain damaged crops, the Chief Minister asked officials to find out who was affected. Nine districts were identified as the most impacted, leading to the approval of the Rs 23 crore compensation fund.
The districts with the most damage are Jalaun, Lalitpur, Mahoba, Saharanpur, Banda, Basti, Jhansi, Shamli, and Chitrakoot. Jalaun, where crops were hit the hardest, will receive the highest compensation to help farmers recover their losses.
The Rs 23 crore fund is divided among the districts as follows:

The aid follows the rules of the PM Crop Insurance Scheme. If a farmer's crop faces over 33% damage due to natural disasters like rain and storms, they will receive compensation. In these nine districts, where more than a third of crops suffered, the compensation process is underway. The money will soon be transferred to the affected farmer's accounts, supporting them during this tough time.
