Volvo Trucks and DSV, a worldwide logistics company, have inked a collaboration agreement for 300 electric heavy trucks. This is one of the largest commercial orders for Volvo electric trucks ever. With the deal, DSV will have one of Europe's largest fleets of heavy electric vehicles.

DSV’s Push for Sustainability

DSV, a global leader in transport and logistics, is rapidly moving towards a more sustainable future. Currently, over 20,000 trucks transport goods for DSV customers worldwide, and an increasing number of these trucks will be electric or powered by renewable fuels in the coming years.

The new electric trucks for DSV will include the Volvo FH Aero Electric, which features improved aerodynamics for better energy efficiency. This is part of DSV's broader plan to deploy 2,000 electric trucks by 2030. The company aims to significantly reduce emissions through this initiative.

DSV and its contractors, along with Volvo Trucks, have agreed to plan for the deployment of 300 zero-emission electric trucks across DSV operations in Europe, as part of the company's goal of deploying 2000 electric vehicles in its fleet by 2030. With the deal, DSV will have one of Europe's largest fleets of heavy electric vehicles.

The agreement also includes 500 Volvo trucks with high-efficiency diesel and gas engines. All trucks are scheduled to be delivered between 2024 and 2026.

DSV is the largest goods transporter for the Volvo Group, and the company's fleet already includes Volvo electric trucks. These vehicles are utilized in Sweden and Denmark, and DSV has installed charging infrastructure at its distribution facilities in both countries, powered by solar panels.

DSV and Volvo Group are both committed to the Science-Based Targets project, which promotes ambitious climate action in the corporate sector in accordance with the Paris Agreement's aims.

Volvo’s Electric Truck Success

Since 2019, Volvo Trucks has delivered more than 3,800 electric trucks across 46 countries. Their diverse product lineup includes eight fully electric models, serving various needs from urban distribution to regional haulage. Volvo’s electric trucks have collectively traveled over 90 million kilometers globally.
