Volvo Group India celebrated Pride Month with a series of events to promote respect and inclusivity at work. The company focused on the theme #PrideAtWork and organised its second Pride March at the Bengaluru office in Bagmane Tech Park. Employees, leaders, and supporters walked together holding rainbow flags to show their support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Throughout the month, Volvo held various activities to build awareness. These included interactive sessions, storytelling circles, and a talk by Vasudhendra Shroff, a well-known Kannada author and LGBTQ+ advocate. He spoke about identity, acceptance, and the importance of belonging. His words encouraged people to think more openly and be more understanding of each other in the workplace.
Kamal Bali, President and Managing Director of Volvo Group India, said that the company is serious about creating a workplace that values both diversity and inclusion. He said that Pride Month is one way of showing that everyone should feel safe, respected, and celebrated at work. He added that the company is committed to continuing its work towards inclusion in the office and the wider community.
Volvo Group India started its Pride programme in 2023 and has since been working to include diversity in everyday work life. The events held this year added to these efforts and showed how the company is growing a supportive and open culture for all.
The celebrations are part of Volvo's plan to build a friendly and understanding workplace. The goal is to create a space where everyone feels free to be themselves, without judgment or fear. Volvo believes that such efforts will lead to a more connected and stronger work culture.

Volvo Group India’s Pride Month celebration is a great example of how companies can build truly inclusive workplaces. Many people still feel afraid to express their identity at work, and events like storytelling and pride marches help break that fear. When leaders and employees support each other openly, it shows that inclusion is part of the company’s culture, not just a policy. Such efforts create a sense of belonging and trust, which makes people feel more confident and connected. In the end, a respectful and inclusive workplace leads to happier employees and stronger teams.
