•    Volvo Group plans to build a new heavy-duty truck plant in Mexico.
•    The plant will support Volvo and Mack truck growth in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Latin America.
•    It's expected to be operational by 2026.
•    Existing plants in Pennsylvania and Virginia will remain the main production sites.
•    The Mexico plant aims to enhance logistics and complement the North American industrial footprint.

The Volvo Group has announced plans to develop a new heavy-duty truck manufacturing factory in Mexico to support its U.S. operations.

The new plant will be approximately 1.7 million square feet and will produce heavy-duty conventional vehicles for the Volvo and Mack brands. It will be a full-service conventional vehicle assembly facility, including cab body-in-white manufacture and painting.

It also includes a mature supply and production ecosystem that will support the US system and strengthen the Group's North American industrial footprint.

The plant will provide additional capacity to support Volvo Trucks and Mack Trucks' growth goals in the United States and Canada, as well as Mack truck sales in Mexico and Latin America. The facility is planned to be operational by 2026.

The Mack LVO facility in Pennsylvania and the Volvo NRV plant in Virginia will continue to be the company's primary North American heavy truck manufacturing facilities. Over the last five years, the Group has invested more than $73 million in LVO growth and renovations, with an additional $80 million planned for future production.

The NRV plant recently completed a six-year, $400 million expansion/upgrade in preparation for the production of the new Volvo VNL model.

Adding production in Mexico will provide logistical efficiencies for supporting sales in the southwestern and western parts of the United States, as well as Mexico and Latin America.
