Volvo Group and Daimler Truck have officially launched a new joint venture called Coretura AB. This venture will focus on building a standardised, software-defined platform for commercial vehicles like trucks and buses.
Based in Sweden, Started in June 2025
Coretura is based in Gothenburg, Sweden. It began operations in June 2025 after receiving the necessary approvals from regulators. The move follows agreements signed by both companies in October 2024.
Team and Leadership

Developing a Common Operating System
Coretura's main task is to develop a shared operating system and software platform. This will allow trucks and buses to receive updates over the air and run services based on apps. The venture will also take care of sourcing powerful control units for data processing.
Frst Product Release date by Coretura
Coretura is expected to release its first software products before the end of this decade.
Comments from Company Leaders

Still Competitors, Open to Partners
