Tata Power & VECV sign MoU to boost EV adoption.
Focus on Eicher Pro X small commercial vehicle range.
Customized charging solutions for truck & bus operators.
Tata Power’s network spans 630+ cities and towns.
Collaboration to tackle range anxiety and infrastructure gaps.
Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) to accelerate the adoption of electric commercial vehicles (ECVs) in India.
This collaboration aims to transform India’s commercial mobility landscape by focusing on the newly launched Eicher Pro X range of small commercial vehicles and expanding support for truck and bus operators planning to shift to electric fleets.
Under this agreement, Tata Power will use its vast EV charging network and provide customized charging solutions tailored for commercial vehicles. VECV will bring in its expertise in energy efficiency to optimize power consumption in electric trucks and buses, ensuring they meet customer requirements and specific operational needs.
Both companies will work together to actively engage with Eicher Trucks and Buses customers to promote EV adoption. Their combined efforts will target issues like range anxiety, charging infrastructure availability, and cost-effectiveness, all key factors that currently slow down the transition to electric mobility.
The partnership will also explore the deployment of other models from Eicher’s electric vehicle portfolio, further supporting India’s move towards a cleaner, sustainable transport ecosystem.
This collaboration is expected to bring innovative solutions and modernize India’s commercial transport sector, paving the way for a greener, more efficient, and future-ready mobility infrastructure.
Tata Power’s EZ Charge network is one of India’s largest EV charging ecosystems. It now includes:
1.5 lakh+ home chargers installed across the country
5,500+ public, semi-public, and fleet charging points
1,200+ E-bus charging points spread across 630+ cities and towns
4 lakh+ registered customers on the EZ Charge platform
These chargers are strategically located on highways, hotels, malls, hospitals, offices, bus depots, residential complexes, and commercial vehicle depots, making EV charging more convenient and reliable for users.
