Tata Motors reported total domestic sales of 25,764 units in April 2025 compared to 28,516 units in April 2024. This shows a decline of 10% in year-over-year sales. Tata Motors released its sales report for April 2025. Here are the key highlights:

HCV Trucks: In April 2025, HCV truck sales stood at 7,270 units, down from 7,875 units in April 2024, reflecting an 8% decline year-on-year.

ILMCV Trucks: ILMCV truck sales increased to 4,680 units in April 2025 compared to 4,316 units in April 2024, marking an 8% growth year-on-year.

Passenger Carriers: Sales of passenger carriers increased to 4,683 units in April 2025 from 4,502 units in April 2024, registering a 4% year-on-year growth.

SCV Cargo and Pickup: The SCV cargo and pickup segment saw a drop in sales from 11,823 units in April 2024 to 9,131 units in April 2025, indicating a sharp 23% decline year-on-year.

CV Domestic: Domestic commercial vehicle sales fell to 25,764 units in April 2025, down from 28,516 units in April 2024, showing a 10% year-on-year decrease.

CV IB (International Business): CV exports rose significantly to 1,457 units in April 2025 compared to 1,022 units in April 2024, showing a strong 43% growth year-on-year.

Total CV: Overall commercial vehicle sales declined by 8%, from 29,538 units in April 2024 to 27,221 units in April 2025.

In April 2025, the domestic sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles (including trucks and buses) were 12,093 units, slightly lower than the 12,722 units sold in April 2024.

Including both domestic and international markets, total MH&ICV sales stood at 12,760 units in April 2025, down from 13,218 units in April 2024.

The commercial vehicle segment showed mixed results in April 2025. While exports and ILMCV trucks performed well with strong growth, domestic sales, especially in the SCV cargo and pickup category, witnessed a noticeable drop. This reflects cautious market demand and shifting trends in customer preferences across categories.
