Tata Motors has expanded its commercial passenger vehicle portfolio with the launch of the Ultra Prime and Starbus Prime bus range at Prawaas 5.0 in Gandhinagar. Along with the new buses, the company showcased a wider range of passenger mobility solutions, including CNG and electric buses, a last-mile electric vehicle, an urban bus concept and people movers designed to meet the growing needs of school, staff, tourism, intercity, intracity and institutional transport.

The newly launched Ultra Prime and Starbus Prime buses have been developed for school, staff and tourism applications. Tata Motors says the new range features refreshed exterior styling, redesigned interiors, improved ride comfort and lower noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels for a better passenger experience.
Safety has also been significantly enhanced with 29 advanced safety features, including:
Driver Monitoring System (DMS)
360-degree camera
Intelligent Transport System (ITS)
Reverse Park Assist System (RPAS)
These features are aimed at improving driver awareness, passenger safety and fleet operations.
Tata Motors also displayed the LPO 1620 CNG, a CNG-powered bus developed for intercity and intracity passenger transport. The company says the bus offers higher passenger capacity while reducing operating costs and supporting cleaner public mobility through CNG technology.
Another highlight was the Ultra Prime LPO 412, a premium bus platform designed for tourism and long-distance travel. The model focuses on providing greater passenger comfort while meeting the requirements of intercity transport operators.
Strengthening its electric bus lineup, Tata Motors showcased the Ultra Skool 9/9 EV, an electric school bus equipped with advanced safety systems, fast-charging capability and an extended driving range.
The bus also offers an optional paint scheme and specially designed interior graphics to create a more comfortable travel environment for neurodivergent children, making school transportation more inclusive.
Tata Motors unveiled the Ultra Prime RE Concept in India for the first time at Prawaas 5.0. Designed for urban public transport, the concept focuses on improving passenger comfort, operational reliability and overall fleet productivity.
The company also displayed the Magic EV, a zero-emission last-mile passenger vehicle offering a claimed driving range of up to 120 km on a single charge. It is designed for urban mobility and short-distance passenger transport.
Alongside it, Tata Motors exhibited the Winger Plus, a people mover developed for staff transportation, institutional travel and tourism applications.
Apart from showcasing its vehicle portfolio, Tata Motors highlighted its extensive customer support ecosystem. The company currently operates more than 4,600 sales and service touchpoints across India.

Speaking at the event, Anand S, Vice President and Business Head - Commercial Passenger Vehicles, Tata Motors, said that Prawaas continues to be an important platform for engaging with fleet operators and industry stakeholders. He added that the event helps the company better understand the changing needs of passenger transportation across India and develop mobility solutions that match evolving market requirements.
