Switch Mobility has received an order to supply 650 electric buses.
The buses will be supplied to Sai Green Projects Private Limited.
The fleet will operate in Mumbai (BEST) and Pune (PMPML).
Both AC and Non-AC 9-meter electric buses will be supplied.
The project is being implemented under Phase II of the PM E-Drive scheme, with the tender awarded by CESL.
Switch Mobility, the commercial vehicle arm of the Hinduja Group, has secured a major order to supply 650 electric buses to Sai Green Projects Private Limited. The buses will be deployed across the public transport networks of Mumbai and Pune under Phase II of the Central Government's PM E-Drive scheme.
The latest order further strengthens Switch Mobility's presence in India's rapidly growing electric public transportation sector.
As part of the agreement, Switch Mobility will supply 9-meter electric buses in both air-conditioned (AC) and non-air-conditioned (Non-AC) variants.
The buses will be operated by Sai Green Projects Private Limited, which secured the tender floated by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL).
The electric bus fleet will be deployed for:
Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) in Mumbai
Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) in Pune
The deployment is expected to strengthen public transport services while supporting India's transition towards cleaner and greener mobility.
The order has been awarded under Phase II of the PM E-Drive scheme, a Government of India initiative aimed at accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles in the country.
The induction of these electric buses is expected to help reduce emissions, improve urban mobility, and promote sustainable public transportation in Maharashtra.
Switch Mobility said it has already deployed more than 2,500 electric buses across India.
Globally, the company's electric bus fleet has collectively covered over 185 million kilometers. These vehicles are being used in a wide range of applications, including:
Urban public transport
Intercity transportation
Specialized transport services
The new Maharashtra order further expands the company's footprint in the electric mobility segment and reinforces its role in supporting India's shift toward zero-emission public transport.
The 650-bus order marks another important milestone for Switch Mobility as India continues to expand its electric public transport network. With deployment planned across Mumbai and Pune under the PM E-Drive scheme, the project will contribute to cleaner urban mobility while strengthening Maharashtra's public transportation infrastructure. Backed by its growing fleet and operational experience, Switch Mobility continues to play a significant role in advancing electric mobility across the country.
