Tata Motors Expands Electric Vehicle Charging Network

Tata Motors has teamed with Delta Electronics India and Thunderplus Solutions Pvt Ltd to boost charging infrastructure for its electric commercial vehicles by installing 250 new fast charging stations around the country.

These new charge stations, located in and around over 50 cities including as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, and Kochi, will expand the existing network of 540 commercial vehicle charging points.

E-commerce companies, parcel and courier service providers, and other industries are boosting their use of commercial electric vehicles for last-mile deliveries in order to reduce their carbon impact. 

Tata Motors would offer the best locations and nearby dealerships for installing these fast-charging stations based on its understanding of the EV market.  Thunderplus Solutions will install and run the essential gear, which Delta Electronics will supply.

Vinay Pathak, Vice President and Business Head – SCV&PU, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, emphasized that expanding charging infrastructure will encourage more businesses to switch to electric vehicles, enhance vehicle uptime, and contribute to a cleaner environment.

Niranjan Nayak, Managing Director of Delta Electronics India, highlighted the significance of this collaboration in advancing India’s electric cargo ecosystem. 

According to Rajeev YSR, CEO of Thunderplus systems Pvt Ltd, "Our focus is on enabling electric commercial vehicle customers with top-notch charging solutions that ensure convenience and reliability."

Tata Motors has introduced the Ace EV, India's most advanced four-wheel e-cargo solution for last-mile delivery. It is backed by over 150 Electric Vehicle Service Centres across the country and comes with a smart battery management system, Fleet Edge telematics system, and strong aggregates to ensure best-in-class uptime.

Leveraging the vast capabilities of the Tata UniEVerse, the Ace EV benefits from cooperation with relevant Tata Group firms as well as partnerships with the country's leading lenders to provide consumers with a comprehensive e-cargo mobility solution. The Ace EV is available at all Tata Motors commercial vehicle dealerships throughout the country.
