Arya’s appointment marks an important step in the integration of Daimler Truck and Toyota Motor Corporation’s commercial vehicle subsidiaries, namely Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino Motors. The new structure aims to strengthen global synergies and innovation across both brands.
He will relocate to Tokyo to head Hino Motors worldwide operations and transformation strategy.
During his tenure at DICV, Arya led the company through record profitability growth while doubling its customer base across all segments.
Under his leadership, the BharatBenz dealership network expanded from 182 to over 385 locations across India, significantly improving the brand’s nationwide reach.
Arya also steered DICV toward sustainability and innovation milestones — making it India’s first commercial vehicle manufacturer to operate entirely on renewable energy. The company also earned the country’s first IGBC Green Factory Building V2 certification.
Arya’s leadership saw the launch of several key innovations, including:
EU safety standard ECE R29-03 cabin compliance
TorqShift (AMT) tippers
HX Series trucks, enhancing performance and driver comfort
His commitment to advancing safety and technology helped DICV align with global standards and strengthen its product portfolio.

Arya is no stranger to Japan, having previously spent four years with Daimler Truck Asia, where he led transformation initiatives. His deep experience in international operations will now guide Hino Motors, a brand with over 80 years of legacy in the global commercial vehicle sector.
Succession planning at DICV is already underway, and official announcements are expected soon. Arya’s appointment will coincide with the launch of ARCHION’s operations on April 1, 2026, once all board and regulatory approvals are completed.
