PMI Electro Mobility Signs Agreement with BEST for 250 Electric Buses

PMI Electro Mobility runs more than 1,700 electric buses in 31 cities across India.
 

Key Highlights:

  • PMI Electro Mobility will supply 250 electric buses to BEST in Mumbai.

PMI Electro Mobility has teamed up with Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) to provide 250 electric buses for Mumbai. The agreement was signed by Mr. Dipesh Dwivedi, Director of PMI Electro Mobility, and Shri Anil Diggikar, IAS, General Manager of BEST.

Details of the Electric Bus Initiative

The 12-meter, air-conditioned buses are designed for comfort, safety, and eco-friendliness. They will be delivered in batches by the second quarter of FY26 and will operate on various routes across Mumbai and its suburbs under the Gross Cost Contract (GCC) model.

This project aims to improve city connectivity and reduce carbon emissions, aligning with Mumbai's efforts to embrace sustainable urban transport solutions.

PMI's Nationwide Electric Bus Presence

PMI Electro Mobility currently runs more than 1,700 electric buses in 31 cities across India, from Leh to Kerala. Mumbai will be the second city in Maharashtra to launch PMI's electric buses. Nagpur was the first city where PMI launched electric buses, and 144 buses are already in use.

Over the next 12 years, these buses are estimated to save around 300,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions and over 125 million liters of diesel.
