Montra Electric, the electric vehicle arm of the Murugappa Group, has inaugurated a new dealership for its electric small commercial vehicles (e-SCVs) in Gurugram. With this move, the company has officially expanded its presence into the Delhi-NCR region, aiming to cater to the growing demand for eco-friendly transport solutions in North India.
Strategic Location to Serve a Growing Market
The newly launched facility is situated on National Highway 8 in Kherki Daula, one of Gurugram’s busiest transport and logistics corridors. Operated by SOL Automotive India Pvt. Ltd., the dealership will function as a 3S (Sales, Service, Spare Parts) center. It will also offer EV charging support, ensuring commercial fleet operators receive a complete service package under one roof.
Montra Electric says this facility is geared to meet the needs of both individual transporters and fleet operators looking to switch to electric vehicles, especially for last-mile and intra-city deliveries.
At the heart of the dealership’s display is the EViator, Montra Electric’s 3.5-ton electric SCV. The vehicle has been developed for durability, efficient cargo movement, and dependable performance. It is powered by an 80 kW electric motor delivering 300 Nm of torque and offers a certified range of 245 km. In real-world load conditions, the range is expected to be around 170 km.
The EViator also features smart telematics, helping fleet operators track and monitor vehicle performance in real time. Montra claims that the vehicle offers more than 95% uptime, making it ideal for businesses that rely on consistent operations. An extended warranty of 7 years or 2.5 lakh kilometers further adds confidence for buyers.
Inauguration and Industry Collaboration
The showroom was inaugurated in the presence of Saju Nair, CEO of TIVOLT Electric Vehicles Private Limited, Montra Electric’s SCV division and Rajesh Gulia, Director of SOL Automotive India Pvt. Ltd. The launch event witnessed participation from business partners, existing customers, and industry experts.
Speaking at the event, Saju Nair highlighted the importance of the Delhi-NCR market in the company’s national expansion strategy. “This dealership strengthens our ability to deliver high-performance electric vehicles tailored for urban logistics and freight operations,” he said.
Rajesh Gulia also expressed confidence in the new partnership. “We are pleased to bring the EViator to Gurugram’s commercial fleet operators. This facility is equipped to provide a seamless ownership experience, from purchase to after-sales support,” he said.
Part of a Larger Expansion Plan
Montra Electric operates under TI Clean Mobility Private Limited and belongs to the 125-year-old Murugappa Group, known for its diversified businesses in engineering, finance, agriculture, and manufacturing. Apart from the EViator, the company’s electric vehicle portfolio includes three-wheelers for both passenger and cargo use, as well as India’s first electric tractor, the E-27.
The new outlet in Gurugram is part of a larger effort to build a wide dealership and service network across India. Montra Electric is particularly focusing on urban and semi-urban markets, where the shift to electric mobility is picking up speed, especially in the commercial and logistics segments.
A Step Towards Greener Urban Transport
With increasing pressure on fleet operators to reduce emissions and improve efficiency, electric small commercial vehicles are becoming a preferred choice. Montra Electric’s latest move into Gurugram not only strengthens its foothold in a key logistics zone but also signals its commitment to building a sustainable transport ecosystem.
By bringing reliable electric commercial vehicles closer to customers and supporting them with a full-service experience, Montra Electric is positioning itself as a player in India’s fast-evolving e-mobility landscape.
