Key Highlights:
Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), a leading City Gas Distribution (CGD) company in India, has teamed up with Nawgati, a homegrown fuel aggregator startup, to promote CNG usage under the MGL CNG Mahotsav 2.0.
Incentives for Fleet Operators
The collaboration aims to incentivize fleet operators to switch to CNG by making the process easier and more accessible. Fleet operators can use the MGL Fuel Card to pay for CNG refueling at designated MGL stations. This service will be available in Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad districts during the event. Nawgati will facilitate the redemption of these cards for free CNG.
Simplifying Refueling with Digital Tools
Nawgati’s digital platform will help fleet operators manage refueling. Through the MGL Fleet Platform, they can register, set up accounts, and track refueling at participating MGL stations. Payments can be made using the MGL Fuel Card, either physically at POS machines or digitally through the MGL Connect or Nawgati Fuelling apps.
CNG Adoption Program for Fleet Operators
Nawgati will also introduce a fleet program as part of the initiative. Fleet operators who buy new commercial CNG vehicles or retrofit their existing vehicles can earn incentives. The program encourages the shift from petrol and diesel to CNG, offering rewards based on vehicle type and tonnage.
Nawgati will also serve as a technical partner, supporting MGL’s closed-loop payment system, which is designed to ensure smooth transactions, promote CNG sales, and contribute to sustainability efforts.
Locations for Refueling
The MGL Fuel Cards will be accepted at multiple MGL CNG stations, including select BEST bus depots in Ghatkopar and Goregaon.
Company Statements
Vaibhav Kaushik, Co-founder and CEO of Nawgati, emphasized that the partnership aims to simplify the transition to CNG for fleet operators. He also highlighted that the initiative could contribute to a greener future for Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad.
