Key Highlights:
MG Group, one of India’s largest privately-owned bus and coach manufacturers, introduced its all-new TIGRA intercity coach and launched a corporate identity at a grand event titled “RE:BORN” held at The Royal Senate, Palace Grounds, Bengaluru.
This marks a bold new chapter for the MG Group, not only showcasing a premium coach designed for comfort and long-distance travel but also celebrating a decade of the company’s presence in the premium coach market. The launch event was attended by the top leadership team of MG, including Chairman and Managing Director Anil Mohan Kamat, President – Strategy and Sales Sivakumar V., and Chief Operating Officer Gireesha Prabhu. Also present were industry partners, customers, and suppliers from the mobility and automotive ecosystem.
TIGRA: A Premium Intercity Coach for Global Aspirations
The highlight of the event was the unveiling of TIGRA, a luxurious 13.5-meter coach built for both domestic and international routes. The model is manufactured at MG Group’s advanced Belagavi facility in Karnataka. With this new product, MG is eyeing leadership in the intercity and tourism coach segment.

The company has focused on improving both functionality and passenger experience, offering a complete luxury package with TIGRA. It aims to meet the expectations of operators and travellers who value comfort, safety, and serviceability in long-distance transport.
A New Corporate Identity to Mark a Bold Phase
To accompany the launch of TIGRA, MG Group also unveiled a completely redesigned logo and brand identity. The new emblem features a smooth transition between the letters "M" and "G", representing the company’s streamlined journey from ideation to execution. The hexagonal frame, inspired by a metal bolt, reflects the group’s strong engineering foundation.

Chairman and MD Anil Mohan Kamat shared, “This brand transformation reflects our readiness to lead the market with innovation and premium design. For years, MG was seen as a dependable partner in the background. Now, we’re ready to take centre stage as a bold, forward-looking brand.”
Sivakumar V., President - Strategy & Sales, said that TIGRA is expected to be a segment leader right from launch. “Building trust in this industry takes decades. We’re confident that TIGRA will redefine expectations in intercity luxury travel,” he stated.
Chief Operating Officer Gireesha Prabhu echoed the sentiment, noting, “We’re not just launching a coach. We’re stepping into a future defined by premium mobility experiences. TIGRA will offer top-notch comfort and reliability across all 13.5-meter coach platforms.”
About MG Group
MG Group was founded in 1980 and operates two major production facilities, one in Belagavi, Karnataka, and another in Zaheerabad, Telangana. Over the years, the company has delivered more than 125,000 bus bodies across a range of categories, including school buses, staff transport, intercity coaches, luxury travel, and even specialised vehicles for defence and ambulance services.
The Belagavi plant, where TIGRA will be manufactured, has seen significant upgrades with investments in tooling, precision jigs, and quality-control systems aimed at enabling high-volume, high-precision coach production.
