Mahindra University celebrated its fourth annual convocation at its Bahadurpally campus in Hyderabad. The event marked a major milestone with the conferring of 956 degrees across a wide range of disciplines, including engineering, management, law, and education. The audience included graduating students, proud families, faculty members, and prominent industry leaders.
Degrees Awarded Across Disciplines
Out of the total 956 degrees, 943 were undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, while 13 were doctoral (PhD) degrees. This year's ceremony was particularly significant as it saw the first graduating batches from the MBA, LLB, MA, and B.Tech Nanotechnology programs.
Inauguration of New Labs and Research Centre
During the event, G V Prasad and Anand Mahindra jointly inaugurated new biotechnology laboratories on campus, a step toward strengthening research infrastructure. Additionally, Anand Mahindra inaugurated the Centre for Risk Management on 2nd August, reinforcing the university’s push toward building advanced capabilities in innovation and applied research.
G V Prasad, Co-Chairman and Managing Director of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, was the Chief Guest for the convocation. In his inspiring address, he spoke about the importance of lifelong learning, adaptability, and collaboration in a fast-changing global economy. He urged the graduates to stay curious, embrace new opportunities, and contribute to inclusive, innovation-led workplaces.
Anand Mahindra’s Message
Anand Mahindra, Chancellor of Mahindra University, presided over the convocation. In his speech, he emphasized the university's guiding vision: to create "citizens FOR and OF a better world." He spoke passionately about the need for critical thinking, ethics, and compassion, encouraging graduates to be agents of positive social change.
Academic Progress Highlighted by Vice Chancellor
Dr. Yajulu Medury, Vice Chancellor of the university, provided a detailed report on Mahindra University’s academic progress over the past year. He highlighted advancements in interdisciplinary learning, innovation, and purpose-driven education, underlining the institution’s commitment to shaping future-ready professionals.
Mohit Joshi, Member of the Board of Management and CEO & MD of Tech Mahindra, emphasised the increasing demand for interdisciplinary skills and industry-aligned education. He spoke about Mahindra University’s strong partnerships with industry leaders, especially Tech Mahindra, which ensure students receive an education that balances academic rigour with real-world relevance.
