Mahindra & Mahindra, a leading tractor company in India, shared its Tractor Sales Report for October 2023. The report showed that the company sold less tractors in October 2023 than in October 2022. The company sold 49,336 tractors in India in October 2023, 2% less than the 50,539 tractors it sold in October 2022.
Additionally, the report indicated that fewer Mahindra Tractors were sold overseas in October 2023 than in October 2022. The company reported a 23% decline in their export market sales, with 1,124 units sold in October 2023 compared to 1,455 units in October 2022.
Overall, Mahindra sold 50,460 tractors in October 2023, which was 3% less than the 51,994 tractors it sold in October 2022.

The company also shared its Year to Date (YTD) sales figures for April to October 2023. The company sold 2,48,060 units in the domestic market in 2023, reflecting a 2% decrease from the 2,52,844 units sold in 2022. In the export market, their YTD Tractor Sales Report for 2022 showed a significant 33% decline.

Hemant Sikka’s Comments-
At M&M Ltd., Mr Hemant Sikka, President of the Farm Equipment Sector, commented on the performance, stating, “We have sold 49,336 tractors in the domestic market during October 2023. Higher aggregate kharif production, higher MSP for key Rabi crops and government’s continued support to the agri economy in H2 of this year, are leading to positive sentiments among farmers during the ongoing festive season, supporting tractor demand. In the export market, we have sold 1,124 tractors.”
