The Mahindra Group has announced the launch of “SOAR: Seamless Opportunity for Amazing Returnships”, a program designed to promote workplace inclusivity by offering full-time roles to women professionals returning to their careers after a break.

SOAR program is for women with at least five years of work experience. It is available in all Mahindra Group companies. SOAR is a unique programme aimed at helping women professionals resume their careers after a break.

Objective of SOAR

The SOAR initiative aims to provide a platform for women who have taken a career break of 6 months to 3 years, helping them re-establish their careers in full-time roles. With structured onboarding, mentorship, and long-term engagement, Mahindra seeks to position itself as a top choice for women professionals looking to make a comeback.

Who Can Apply?

The program is open to women professionals who meet the following criteria:

  • Work Experience: At least five years of prior professional experience.
  • Career Break: A gap of 6 months to 3 years.

This eligibility ensures a diverse talent pool from various industries.

Key Features of SOAR

1. Full-Time Roles

Participants are offered mainstream full-time roles matching their prior experience, enabling them to contribute effectively from the start.

2. Job Sharing and Part-Time Options

For roles requiring flexibility, participants can opt for part-time or job-sharing arrangements with prorated compensation.

3. Streamlined Recruitment Process

Job opportunities are listed on a dedicated SOAR webpage, and recruitment is managed by sector-specific teams for seamless hiring.

4. Customized Induction Program

Participants receive mentorship, targeted upskilling, and personalized support to rebuild confidence and stay updated with industry trends.

Engagement and Mentorship

Buddy System: Participants are paired with a female colleague for six months to ensure on-ground support.

Senior Mentorship: Female mentors outside the reporting hierarchy provide guidance for six months, creating relatable and valuable connections.

Cohort-Based Engagement: Group-based engagement programs promote peer learning and camaraderie.

Ongoing Feedback and Governance

To ensure success, the program includes regular performance reviews at intervals of 30, 60, and 90 days, as well as at 6 months and 12 months. Sector CHROs and managers will conduct periodic assessments for up to two years to ensure participants’ growth and engagement.

Unique Advantages of SOAR

Unlike traditional returnship programs, SOAR invests deeply in participants by offering:

  • A bespoke curriculum to bridge knowledge gaps.
  • Sustained mentorship and leadership oversight.
  • Strong governance to address challenges and ensure long-term retention.

Commitment to Inclusion

SOAR is part of Mahindra’s Rise philosophy, which empowers individuals to create positive change. The initiative aims to build inclusive workplaces encouraging innovation, resilience, and sustainable growth.
