India's 1st 1-ton Commercial EV

Jupiter Wagons' subsidiary, Jupiter Electric Mobility Private Limited (JEM), has received approval from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) to start manufacturing a battery-operated light commercial vehicle (LCV). This certification guarantees compliance with the Central Motor Vehicles Rules.

Jupiter Wagons announced its entry into the EV industry almost two years ago, in 2022, with the formation of its subsidiary, Jupiter Electric Mobility, which focuses on commercial electric vehicles. It established a joint venture with EA GreenPower Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of GreenPower Motor Company Inc.

JEM will be the first to introduce a one-tonne commercial EV fitted with Telematics for monitoring EV health and performance.

JEM TEZ has rapid charging capabilities, charging from 0 to 100% in around 20 minutes at combined charging stations and fully charging in less than 2 hours using the built-in charger.

Specifications of JEM TEZ, India's 1st 1-ton Commercial EV

•    Ground Clearance: 155 mm
•    GVW: 2.33 Ton
•    Payload Capacity: 1 Ton
•    Driving Range: 127 km in Single Charge
•    Fast Charging time: 20 min
•    Regular Charging time: < 2 hours

JEM will produce the LCV under the brand name JEM TEZ. Jupiter Wagons' shares rose 2.97% to ₹587.95 per share following the announcement on May 31.

Jupiter Wagons' standalone net profit increased significantly to ₹104.22 Crore in the March quarter, driven by increasing income.
