JBM Electric Vehicles and Al Habtoor Motors announced their partnership on September 22, 2025, to introduce electric buses across the UAE. Under this agreement, Al Habtoor Motors will act as the exclusive importer and distributor of JBM’s electric buses in the country.

The partnership aims to accelerate the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative by offering clean mobility solutions that reduce carbon emissions, lower operating costs, and improve public transport infrastructure.

JBM’s Strong EV Expertise

JBM Electric Vehicles, a subsidiary of JBM Auto Ltd., operates one of the world’s largest integrated EV manufacturing facilities in India with an annual production capacity of 20,000 electric buses.

So far, JBM’s electric buses have:

  • Traveled over 200 million kilometers

  • Served more than one billion passengers

  • Saved over 350 million liters of diesel

  • Reduced one billion kilograms of CO2 emissions

JBM has also committed to achieving three billion kilometers globally within three years.

Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of JBM Auto, highlighted that this collaboration will significantly reduce CO2 emissions by over 2.8 billion kilograms and save more than one billion liters of diesel over the next decade, serving 1.6 billion passengers.

Electric Buses for Multiple Segments

Under this partnership, Al Habtoor Motors will introduce JBM’s electric buses across multiple transport segments, including:

  • Urban city transport

  • School buses

  • Staff shuttles

  • Airport tarmac operations

  • Intercity and tourist coaches

The buses come with advanced lithium-ion battery systems, smart charging features, and robust safety systems, designed to operate efficiently in UAE’s climate conditions.

Combined Turnkey Solutions

The partnership will also provide turnkey solutions that include:

  • Electric buses

  • Charging infrastructure

  • Leasing and fleet management services

Ahmed Al Habtoor, CEO of Al Habtoor Motors, expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating that the company aims to be among the top two e-mobility players in the region and play a key role in building a clean and sustainable transport future for the UAE.

JBM Electric Vehicles is part of the $3.3 billion JBM Group, which operates in over 37 countries across sectors including renewable energy and automotive systems.

Al Habtoor Motors, part of the Al Habtoor Group, is a major distributor in the UAE, representing top automotive brands like Mitsubishi Motors, FUSO, Bentley, and Bugatti.
