JBM E-Buses Sales Show Strong Growth – Consolidated Sales figures taken from Vahan Data and adding the missing Telangana Story
JBM Auto’s FY25 sales soar with 80% from Telangana, missing in Vahan data, skewing actual national performance.

JBM Auto reported strong vehicle (buses) sales in Q4 FY2024 and March 2025. However, a closer look reveals a significant blind spot: official Vahan data continues to under-report JBM’s performance by excluding figures from Telangana. This state has emerged as a major contributor to JBM’s success in FY25.
Telangana Drives JBM’s Sales in FY25 – Figures Not Reflected in National Data
Telangana remains the only state among India’s 36 states and union territories not integrated with the Vahan portal — the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways central database for vehicle registration. This lack of integration results in OEMs active in Telangana appearing to have a lower market presence than they actually do.
In Q4 FY2024, JBM sold a total of 468 units across India. Out of these:
376 units were registered in Telangana
92 units were registered in other Indian states
Telangana alone contributed over 80% of JBM’s total Q4 sales.
Q4 FY2024 Sales Breakdown:
Q4 FY2024 | Qty |
Telangana Units | 376 |
Other States Units | 92 |
Total Registered Units | 468 |
Jan–Mar 2025: Month-wise Comparison Highlights Telangana Dominance
A deeper monthly breakdown shows how critical Telangana has become to JBM’s sales momentum.
JBM Auto Monthly Sales Breakdown – Jan to Mar 2025
Month | Telangana Units | Other States Units | Total Registered Units |
January | 50 | 48 | 98 |
February | 178 | 36 | 214 |
March | 148 | 4 | 152 |
In March 2025, Telangana alone contributed 148 out of 152 units sold, accounting for 97% of JBM’s monthly registrations. While Vahan data shows just 4 units for the month of March, the actual sales performance is significantly stronger when Telangana is considered.
March 2025 Snapshot
In March 2025, the contrast between the Vahan data and the actual performance becomes even sharper. JBM registered a total of 148 units in Telangana alone.
March 2025 Sales Breakdown:
Mar-25 | Qty |
Telangana Units | 148 |
Other States Units | 4 |
Total Registered Units | 152 |
March 2025 Market Share:
JBM Market Share (incl. Telangana registrations): 36%
This means Telangana accounted for nearly 97% of JBM’s sales in March 2025. While Vahan data shows just a 1.5% market share for JBM in March 2025, the true figure is 36% when Telangana is included.
Why This Matters
The ongoing exclusion of Telangana data leads to:
An inaccurate representation of national-level sales figures
Misleading market share rankings
Flawed business decisions based solely on incomplete Vahan data
Call for Data Inclusion
Telangana is still not integrated with the Vahan portal, making it the last holdout in a nationwide system. This integration is critical for ensuring transparency and accuracy in evaluating OEM performance across India. Until this gap is addressed, companies like JBM will continue to be underrepresented in national statistics, skewing insights and decisions across the industry.
