India’s first 1 MW EV charger launched by VNT.
Fully conceptualised, designed, and developed in-house.
Supports electric trucks, buses, mining, and commercial vehicles.
Features dynamic load balancing for high efficiency.
Marks a major step towards a self-reliant and fast EV charging infrastructure.
VNT has launched India’s first 1 MW electric vehicle charger, marking a major leap forward in the country’s EV charging infrastructure. The new charging system is designed, developed, and manufactured entirely in-house by VNT, making it a 100% indigenous innovation.
This powerful charger is specially engineered to support next-generation heavy-duty electric vehicles such as trucks, buses, mining vehicles, and long-haul commercial fleets.
With its megawatt-level charging capacity, the system drastically reduces charging time for large commercial EVs. This helps fleet operators cut downtime and keep their vehicles running longer, an important factor that directly affects profitability in commercial transport and logistics sectors.
VNT’s 1 MW charger represents the next frontier in EV technology, offering up to 10–20 times the power output of typical fast chargers that range between 50 kW and 150 kW. This means a heavy electric bus that once took hours to charge could now be ready for service within a fraction of that time.
A key feature of this system is its advanced energy management and dynamic load balancing technology. This allows the charger to automatically distribute power efficiently across multiple charging points, minimising energy losses and operational costs while maintaining top performance even during heavy usage.
Built for high endurance and reliability, the charger is designed to perform seamlessly in tough industrial and environmental conditions—ideal for commercial and mining applications.
Vikas Almadi, Managing Director and Chairman of VNT, called this launch a “defining moment for India’s EV ecosystem.” He emphasised the company’s commitment to advancing technology that supports net-zero goals and a self-reliant, sustainable future.
Rahul Sharma, CEO of VNT, highlighted that this innovation showcases the company’s strong research and development capabilities. He added that the 1 MW charger’s efficiency and load management system set a new standard for reliability and performance in EV charging.
The launch is not just a technological milestone, it’s a statement of India’s growing capability in indigenous innovation. By developing the 1 MW system entirely in-house, VNT has reduced dependence on imported technologies and strengthened the country’s position as a potential global hub for advanced EV solutions.
As India’s commercial vehicle segment shifts towards electrification, high-capacity charging becomes essential. Heavy trucks and long-haul EVs need large battery packs, and conventional chargers can take hours to replenish them. Megawatt charging directly solves this problem, enabling ultra-fast energy delivery for massive batteries.
The initial rollout of such chargers is expected along key transport corridors and major commercial hubs. Future expansion could see installations at fleet depots, mining sites, logistics parks, and highways, creating a nationwide high-power charging network.
With this launch, VNT positions itself as a pioneer in India’s ultra-fast EV charging market. As fleet operators increasingly adopt electric trucks and buses, the presence of reliable and powerful charging solutions will play a vital role in accelerating this transition.
By combining indigenous design, high efficiency, and future-ready performance, VNT’s 1 MW charger represents a significant stride towards India’s sustainable and self-reliant mobility future.

VNT’s launch of India’s first 1 MW EV charger marks a game-changing moment for the nation’s electric mobility sector. This fully indigenous innovation not only boosts the efficiency of heavy-duty EV operations but also supports India’s vision of technological self-reliance and sustainability. By enabling ultra-fast charging for electric trucks and buses, VNT is paving the way for a cleaner, faster, and more efficient transport future.
