India’s commercial vehicle (CV) retail market continued its growth momentum in March 2026, with total sales reaching 1,02,536 units, according to FADA Research. The market recorded 1.70% month-on-month (MoM) growth and a strong 15.12% year-on-year (YoY) increase, reflecting steady demand across logistics, infrastructure, and transportation sectors.

Overall CV Market Performance - March 2026

India’s commercial vehicle market stayed on a steady growth path in March 2026. As per FADA, total retail sales reached 1,02,536 units, showing a 1.70% month-on-month growth compared to February 2026.

On a yearly basis, the market grew by a strong 15.12%, highlighting healthy demand from logistics, infrastructure, and transport sectors. The slight monthly growth shows stable buying sentiment, while the strong YoY jump clearly reflects improving economic activity and fleet expansion across India.

  • Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV): LCVs continued to dominate the market with 59,379 units sold. The segment grew 3.18% MoM and 11.99% YoY, driven by rising demand in e-commerce deliveries and small business transportation.

  • Medium Commercial Vehicles (MCV): MCVs recorded 8,326 units, registering 2.93% MoM growth and a strong 25.50% YoY increase. This shows improving demand from industrial logistics and regional cargo movement.

  • Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCV): HCV sales stood at 34,775 units. While the segment saw a slight 1.00% MoM decline, it posted a solid 18.55% YoY growth, supported by infrastructure, mining, and long-haul freight demand.

  • Others: The ‘Others’ category remained small with 56 units sold, declining 1.75% MoM and 29.11% YoY, indicating limited contribution from niche segments.

Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Ltd sold 1,998 units, capturing 1.95% market share. The brand is steadily growing in the last-mile mobility space, supported by increasing adoption of electric three-wheelers.
