Key Highlights:
New FASTag balance validation rules are now in effect. These changes are designed to make toll transactions smoother and reduce fraud, which will directly decrease waiting times at toll gates. According to a circular from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), users who don't follow these rules may face double the toll charges.
As per the new circular from NPCI, FASTag users should always ensure their account has sufficient balance. Users are also advised to check their balance before entering a toll booth. Additionally, it's important to verify the FASTag status to ensure the account is active and hasn't been blacklisted.

The new FASTag rules aim to make toll payments faster and reduce delays. Users need to make sure their account has enough balance and that their FASTag isn't blacklisted. If the FASTag is blacklisted, users could face double charges unless they fix it quickly. The 70-minute grace period allows time to resolve issues, but it's still important to check the status before reaching the toll gate to avoid extra costs. Staying aware of these new FASTag rules in India can avoid unexpected problems during travel.
