FADA Sales Report May 2025: CV sales decreased by 3.7% YoY

FADA, the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association, has shared the commercial vehicle sales data for May 2025. The commercial vehicle (CV) segment saw a decline of 3.7% year-on-year and 11.25% month-on-month in sales.

Commercial Vehicle Sales in May 2025: Category-Wise Breakdown

Here’s a breakdown of the commercial vehicle (CV) segment in May 2025:

Commercial Vehicles: In May 2025, the total commercial vehicle (CV) sales stood at 75,615 units. In April 2025, the figure was 85,203 units, while in May 2024, it was 78,530 units. This means CV sales declined by 11.25% on a month-on-month (MoM) basis and 3.71% on a year-on-year (YoY) basis.

Light Commercial Vehicles: A total of 44,419 units were sold in May 2025. In April 2025, the sales were 46,721 units, and in May 2024, the sales figure was 45,870 units. This indicates a month-on-month sales decline of 4.93% and a year-on-year decrease of 3.16%.

Medium Commercial Vehicles: In this segment, 6,772 units were sold in May 2025, compared to 7,089 units in April 2025 and 6,359 units in May 2024. The Y-O-Y sales increased by 6.49%, and M-O-M sales decreased by 4.47%.

Heavy Commercial Vehicles: HCV sales stood at 24,382 units in May 2025, down from 31,330 units in April 2025 and 26,234 units in May 2024. The Y-O-Y and M-O-M sales decreased by 7.06% and 22.18%, respectively.

Others: The 'Others' category registered 42 units in May 2025. In April 2025, it was 63 units, and in May 2024, 67 units were sold. The Y-O-Y and M-O-M sales decreased by 37.31% and 33.33%, respectively.

OEM Wise CV Sales Report for May 2025


In May 2025, the commercial vehicle market saw notable changes in sales. Here is the OEM Wise CV Sales Report for May 2025:

Tata Motors sold 26,100 commercial vehicles in May 2025, compared to 29,512 units in May 2024.

Mahindra & Mahindra sold 19,816 units in May 2025, compared to 19,826 units in May 2024.

Ashok Leyland sold 13,763 units in May 2025, compared to 13,635 units in May 2024.

VolvoEicher Commercial Vehicles sold 6,734 units in May 2025, compared to 6,597 units in May 2024.

Maruti Suzuki sold 3,122 commercial vehicles in May 2025, compared to 3,357 units in May 2024.

Force Motors Limited sold 2,088 units in May 2025, compared to 1,643 units in May 2024.

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles PVT. LTD. sold 1,825 units in May 2025, compared to 1,840 units in May 2024.

SML Isuzusold 1,509 units in May 2025, compared to 1,467 units in May 2024.

Other brands together sold 658 units in May 2025, compared to 653 units in May 2024.

Overall, 75,615 commercial vehicles were sold in May 2025, compared to 78,530 units in May 2024.
