FADA Sales Report June 2024: Three-wheeler (3W) sales increased by 5.1% YoY

In the FADA sales report for June 2024, 94,321 units of three-wheelers were sold compared to 98,265 in May 2024.
FADA Sales Report June 2024: Three-wheeler (3W) sales increased by 5.1% YoY

Key Highlights:

  • Three-wheeler sales grew 5.1% YoY in June 2024.
  • E-rickshaw passenger sales decreased 2.78% YoY to 37,963 units.
  • E-rickshaw with cart sales increased 59.64% YoY to 4,612 units.
  • Bajaj Auto led with 34,238 units sold and a 36.30% market share.
  • Sales of Goods and Passenger Three-Wheelers showed mixed results, with some monthly declines but overall yearly growth.

In the latest FADA Retail Sales Report for June 2024, Three-Wheelers (3W) sales increased by 5.1% YoY. In June'24, a total of 94,321 units of three-wheelers were sold compared to 89,743 in June 2023.  

Three-wheeler (3W) MoM sales declined by 4.01%. In June 2024, 94,321 units of three-wheelers were sold compared to 98,265 units in May 2024.

Here's a breakdown for each category:

E-RICKSHAW(P):

In June 2024, 37,963 E-Rickshaws (Passenger) were sold, which is a 3.90% decrease from the 39,505 units sold in May 2024. Compared to June 2023, when 39,050 units were sold, this represents a 2.78% decrease.

E-RICKSHAW WITH CART (G):

In June 2024, 4,612 E-Rickshaws with Cart (Goods) were sold, a 16.60% decrease from the 5,530 units sold in May 2024. However, this is a significant increase of 59.64% from the 2,889 units sold in June 2023.

THREE-WHEELER (GOODS):

In June 2024, 8,959 Three-Wheelers (Goods) were sold, which is a 9.75% decrease from the 9,927 units sold in May 2024. This represents a year-over-year growth of 3.35% compared to the 8,669 units sold in June 2023.

THREE-WHEELER (PASSENGER):

In June 2024, 42,690 Three-Wheelers (Passenger) were sold, a slight decrease of 1.24% from the 43,224 units sold in May 2024. This represents a year-over-year growth of 9.29% compared to the 39,060 units sold in June 2023.

THREE-WHEELER (PERSONAL):

In June 2024, 97 Three-Wheelers (Personal) were sold, showing a month-over-month (MoM) growth of 22.78% from the 79 units sold in May 2024. This also represents a year-over-year (YoY) increase of 29.33% compared to the 75 units sold in June 2023.

Three-Wheeler FADA Sales Report: OEM-wise Market Share and Sales Figures

Bajaj Auto Ltd continues to lead the market with 34,238 units sold in June 2024, capturing a 36.30% market share, slightly down from 37.07% last year.

Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd sold 6,850 units in June 2024, holding a 7.26% market share, a slight increase from 6.88% in June 2023.

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited sold 5,449 units in June 2024, accounting for 5.78% of the market, slightly down from 5.86% last year.

YC Electric Vehicle sold 3,355 units, maintaining a 3.56% share, a slight decline from 3.86% in June 2023.

Saera Electric Auto Pvt Ltd maintained steady sales of 2,471 units, holding a 2.62% market share, consistent with the previous year.

Atul Auto Ltd saw a jump in sales to 2,022 units, holding a 2.14% market share, up from 1.83% in June 2023.

Dilli Electric Auto Pvt Ltd sold 1,963 units, representing a 2.08% market share, slightly down from 2.38% in June 2023.

TVS Motor Company Ltd increased its sales to 1,746 units, capturing a 1.85% market share, slightly up from 1.58% in June 2023.

Mini Metro EV L.L.P sold 1,296 units, accounting for 1.37% of the market, slightly down from 1.68% in June 2023.

Unique International sold 1,174 units, holding a 1.24% share, slightly down from 1.29% in June 2023.

Energy Electric Vehicles sold 1,069 units, capturing a 1.13% market share, up from 0.93% in June 2023.

Hotage India sold 1,033 units in June 2024, compared to 1,234 units in June 2023.

J. S. Auto (P) Ltd sold 973 units in June 2024, compared to 984 units in June 2023.

Others (including EV): Sold 30,682 units in June 2024, compared to 28,291 units in June 2023.

CMV360 Says

The June 2024 FADA report shows mixed results for three-wheelers. Despite ups and downs month-to-month, there's steady growth compared to last year. E-Rickshaws with Cart are doing well, showing changing consumer demands. Market leaders are adjusting to competition.
