FADA Sales Report April 2024: Three-wheeler (3W) sales increased by 9% YoY

• Three-wheeler (3W) sales increased by 9.27% YoY, totaling 80,105 units in April 2024.

In the latest FADA Retail Sales Report for April 2024, Three-Wheelers (3W) sales increased by 9.27% YoY. In April '24, a total of 80,105 units of three-wheelers were sold compared to 73,310 in April 2023.  

Three-Wheelers (3W) MoM sales declined by 23.87%. In April 2024, 80,105 units of three-wheelers were sold compared to 1,05,222 in March 2024. Here's a breakdown for each category:

E-RICKSHAW(P):

• In April 2024, 31,808 e-rickshaws were sold, showing a decrease of 14.90% compared to March 2024.
• Compared to April 2023, there was a slight increase of 0.69% in sales.

E-RICKSHAW WITH CART (G):

• 4,223 units were sold in April 2024, marking a decrease of 16.98% from March 2024.
• However, compared to April 2023, there was a significant increase of 56.35% in sales.

THREE-WHEELER (GOODS):

• Sales of cargo three-wheelers totaled 9,072 units in April 2024, reflecting a decline of 37.14% compared to March 2024.
• For Year-on-year, sales increased by 11.35% from April 2023.

THREE-WHEELER (PASSENGER):

• In April 2024, 34,938 three-wheelers were sold, indicating a decrease of 27.55% from March 2024.
• Compared to April 2023, sales saw a growth of 13.37%.

THREE-WHEELER (PERSONAL):

• Sales of personal three-wheelers stood at only 64 units in April 2024, showing a decrease of 36.63% compared to March 2024.
• Year-on-year, there was an increase of 18.52% from April 2023.

Three-Wheeler FADA Sales Report: OEM-wise Sales Analysis

BAJAJ AUTO LTD:

Bajaj Auto Ltd sold 29,932 three-wheelers in April 2024, capturing a market share of 37.37%. In April 2023, they sold 26,584 units, accounting for a slightly lower market share of 36.26%.

PIAGGIO VEHICLES PVT LTD:

Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd sold 5,886 units in April 2024 compared to 6,134 units in April 2023. Compared to April 2023, their market share decreased from 8.37% to 7.35%, despite a minor decrease in sales.

MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA LIMITED:

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited sold 3,813 three-wheelers in April 2024, with a market share of 4.76%. Their market share decreased slightly from 5.76% in April 2023 when they sold 4,222 units.

YC ELECTRIC VEHICLE:

YC Electric Vehicle sold 2,938 units in April 2024, capturing a market share of 3.67%. In April 2023, they sold 2,839 units, maintaining a similar market share of 3.87%.

SAERA ELECTRIC AUTO PVT LTD:

Saera Electric Auto Pvt Ltd sold 1,966 units in April 2024, with a market share of 2.45%. Their market share remained stable compared to April 2023 when they sold 1,856 units.

ATUL AUTO LTD:

Atul Auto Ltd sold 1,762 units in April 2024, holding a market share of 2.20%. Their market share was 2.13% in April 2023 when they sold 1,563 units.

DILLI ELECTRIC AUTO PVT LTD:

Dilli Electric Auto Pvt Ltd sold 1,610 units in April 2024, capturing a market share of 2.01%. Their market share was 2.36% in April 2023 when they sold 1,730 units.

TVS MOTOR COMPANY LTD:

TVS Motor Company Ltd sold 1,588 units in April 2024 compared to 1,141 units in April 2023, with a market share of 1.98%. YOY sales were increased.

MINI METRO EV L.L.P:

Mini Metro EV L.L.P sold 962 units in April 2024, holding a market share of 1.20%. Their market share slightly decreased from 1.41% in April 2023 when they sold 1,037 units.

UNIQUE INTERNATIONAL:

Unique International sold 956 units in April 2024, capturing a market share of 1.19%. Their market share remained stable compared to April 2023 when they sold 883 units.

The latest FADA Retail Sales Report for April 2024 indicates a 9% year-on-year increase in Three-Wheeler (3W) sales, with 80,105 units sold. E-rickshaw sales decreased compared to March 2024 but slightly increased from April 2023. 

Three-wheeler sales for goods transport saw a significant decline from March 2024. Bajaj Auto Ltd dominated the market with a 37.37% share, followed by Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd and Mahindra & Mahindra Limited. Other OEMs maintained relatively stable market shares.
