
Escorts Kubota reports a 12.5% drop in December 2024 domestic tractor sales, but exports grew by 12.6%.

Escorts Kubota Limited (EKL) has announced its tractor sales for December 2024, showing a decline in domestic sales. The company sold a total of 5,472 tractors in December 2024, compared to 6,136 tractors sold during the same month last year, reflecting an overall drop of 10.8%.

Domestic tractor sales saw a 12.5% decrease, with only 5,016 units sold compared to 5,731 units in December 2023. Meanwhile, export sales grew by 12.6%, with 456 tractors sold compared to 405 units last year.
The company remains optimistic about domestic sales, citing factors such as strong rabi sowing, better water reservoir levels, and procurement from the kharif harvest, which may boost demand in the coming months.

For the third quarter (Q3) of FY24, Escorts Kubota's domestic sales rose by 6%, with 31,585 units sold compared to 29,784 units during the same quarter last year. However, export sales dropped by a significant 29.2%, with only 971 units sold compared to 1,371 units in Q3 FY23.
Overall, the company sold 32,556 units in Q3 FY24, marking a 4.5% growth compared to 31,155 units sold in Q3 FY23.

During the nine months of FY24 (April to December), Escorts Kubota sold a total of 88,921 units, a slight decline of 0.8% compared to 89,649 units sold in FY23.

Escorts Kubota’s December 2024 tractor sales highlight challenges in domestic markets, with a 12.5% drop, while exports grew by 12.6%. Despite a slight yearly rise in domestic sales, export declines remain a concern. The company remains optimistic about future growth, supported by favorable agricultural conditions and strong rabi sowing.
