Escorts Kubota has appointed Manish Sharma, former Chairman and CEO of Panasonic India, as President of its Agri Business. The appointment brings more than three decades of experience in consumer durables, manufacturing, product development and business transformation to the company’s largest business segment.

Manish Sharma to Oversee Key Agri Divisions

According to a regulatory filing, Sharma will oversee Escorts Kubota’s major agricultural operations in both domestic and international markets. His responsibilities will cover:

• Tractor Business Division

• Agri Solutions Business Division

• Service and Spare Parts Business Division

Sharma has over 30 years of experience in the appliances and consumer electronics industry. He spent around 17 years in leadership roles at Panasonic India, including serving as its Chairman and CEO.

His experience includes product development, manufacturing, supply-chain management, brand building and business transformation. He has also been associated with industry bodies such as FICCI and various policy forums. He continues to serve as a Senior Adviser to Panasonic Energy.

Focus on Farm Mechanisation and Global Growth

Sharma’s appointment comes as Escorts Kubota strengthens its focus on technology-led farm mechanisation, exports and premium tractor products amid rising competition in the agricultural machinery market.

His experience is expected to support the company’s growth plans across India and international markets, particularly as demand increases for technologically advanced agricultural equipment and solutions that can improve farm productivity.

Kubota Holds Controlling Stake in Escorts Kubota

Escorts Kubota is a Faridabad, Haryana-based engineering company founded by the Nanda family. It manufactures agricultural machinery, construction equipment and industrial products.

Japan-based Kubota Corporation, a major manufacturer of agricultural and construction equipment, currently holds a 53.5% stake in Escorts Kubota following a series of strategic investments. Kubota is now the company’s promoter and controlling shareholder, while Nikhil Nanda continues as Chairman and Managing Director.

The appointment of Sharma reflects Escorts Kubota’s focus on experienced professional leadership as it looks to benefit from increasing farm mechanisation, improving rural productivity and growing demand for advanced agricultural machinery in India and overseas markets.
