Key Highlights:

  • Electric bus sales in March 2025 stood at 360 units, a 9.8% decline.
  • Switch Mobility led the market with 113 buses, holding a 31.4% market share.

Tata Motors, JBM Auto, Olectra Greentech, Switch Mobility, PMI Electro Mobility, AEROEAGLE Automobiles and others have announced their sales figures for March 2025. Switch Mobility emerged as the top performer in electric bus sales in March 2025, followed by Olectra Greentech and AEROEAGLE Automobiles.

In March 2025, the electric bus market saw a decline in sales. The total number of electric buses sold was 277 units in March 2025, compared to 307 in February 2025. Electric bus sales dropped from 414 units in March 2024 to 277 units in March 2025.

Electric Buses Sales Report March 2025: OEM-wise Sales Analysis

Electric bus sales in India reached 277 units in March 2025, a 9.8% drop from 307 units in February 2025. Some brands recorded growth, while others saw a decline. Here is how each brand performed:

Switch Mobility sold 113 buses in March 2025, up from 88 units in February 2025. This marks a 28.4% increase, making it the market leader with a 31.4% market share.

Olectra Greentech sold 76 buses in March 2025 compared to 66 units in February 2025. The brand sales grew by 15.2% and now hold a 21.1% market share.

AeroEagle Automobiles recorded the highest percentage growth, selling 28 buses in March 2025, up from 12 units in February 2025. The brand sales grew by 133.3%. The company hold a market share of 7.8%.

PMI Electro Mobility faced a sharp decline, selling 25 buses in March 2025, down from 57 units in February 2025. This is a 56% drop, affecting its market position. The company hold a market share of 6.9%.

Tata Motors sold 24 electric buses in March 2025, lower than the 42 units sold in February 2025. The brand saw a 42.9% decline. The company hold a market share of 6.7%.

JBM Auto recorded the biggest drop, selling only 4 buses in March 2025 compared to 30 units in February 2025. The brand saw an 87% decline in sales. The company hold a market share of 1.1%.

Veera Vidyuth Vahana saw slight growth, selling 4 buses in March 2025, up from 3 units in February 2025, marking a 33.3% increase.

Veera Vahana Udyog doubled its sales, delivering 2 buses in March 2025, up from 1 unit in February 2025. This resulted in a 100% increase.

Other brands contributed only 1 bus in March 2025, a sharp drop from 8 units in February 2025, representing an 88% decline.

The electric bus market in March 2025 showed mixed results, with some brands growing while others faced sharp declines. Switch Mobility remains the market leader, while AeroEagle Automobiles showed the highest growth. However, major players like PMI Electro Mobility and Tata Motors saw significant drops, reflecting market challenges. Even with lower sales, the market is still growing, and demand may improve soon.
