EKA Mobility and KPIT Technologies Partner for Electric Powertrain Development

EKA Mobility and KPIT Technologies have signed a memorandum of understanding. Both the companies will work together on developing electric powertrain technology for commercial vehicles. The focus of collaboration will be on creating key components like traction motors, controllers, vehicle control units, and battery management systems.

Partnership Goals

KPIT Technologies will provide its expertise in electric powertrain technologies to improve EKA Mobility's electric buses and commercial vehicles. The goal of this partnership is to improve energy efficiency and reduce ownership costs for these vehicles.

Dr. Sudhir Mehta, Founder & Chairman of EKA Mobility, emphasized that this partnership would speed up India's transition to zero-emission commercial vehicles. KPIT Technologies CEO, Kishor Patil, also highlighted the focus on developing solutions customized for India's unique use cases.

India’s commercial vehicle sector is seeing rapid electrification because every cv manufacturers adding electric vehicles to their portfolios. Government policies and incentives are promoting electric vehicle adoption. As a result, the electric vehicle industry is growing in India.

EKA by Pinnacle Mobility Solutions is a new initiative from Pinnacle Industries, a company known for automotive seating, interiors, and speciality vehicles. In partnership with VDL Group.
