
Deepanjan Roy has been named Chief Marketing Officer for Tata Motors' commercial vehicles business, bringing nearly 15 years of experience at the company and leadership roles at Air India and TAFE.

Roy returns to Tata Motors with nearly 15 years of experience at the company. During his earlier tenure, he held several important positions across various business functions. His roles included Head of Sales and Marketing, where he managed cargo and sales operations. He also developed sales strategies and expanded customer outreach, contributing to the company's market growth.
Previously, Roy served as Regional Manager for South and East India. In this position, he focused on expanding the market and building dealer networks. He also led marketing efforts for the company, gaining significant experience in both sales and marketing operations.
Roy's career includes experience outside Tata Motors as well. In 2024, he joined Air India as Vice President – Cargo, where he managed cargo operations. He later moved to Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE) as Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing. These roles broadened his expertise in logistics and rural markets.
Earlier, Roy worked with Tata Consultancy Services in London, managing global business accounts such as BT Group. This international exposure added to his understanding of business operations and customer management.
Roy's appointment comes at a crucial time for Tata Motors. The automotive sector is undergoing rapid changes due to digital transformation and evolving customer needs. Roy's deep knowledge of the company's products, markets, and customers positions him well to lead marketing efforts. His leadership is expected to help Tata Motors strengthen its brand and connect more effectively with customers in the commercial vehicles segment.
