Continental Unveils New Transportation Tech at IAA Transportation 2024

Continental is set to showcase a range of cutting-edge technologies at the IAA Transportation 2024 event, running from September 17 to 22. The company will focus on innovations in commercial vehicle technology under the theme "Innovating Transportation – From Road to Cloud!”

Continental's products at the event will include high-performance computers (HPCs) and software geared to handle current automobiles' massive data requirements. 

These technologies are the foundation of Continental's intelligent services, which aim to improve fleet efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure legal compliance. 

The business will demonstrate its HPCs for commercial vehicle cockpits and cross-domain zone control units, which include power supplies for various vehicle components, as well as its Automotive Edge framework CAEdge, a cloud-based platform for building and testing vehicle software.

New Tyre Management Solutions

Two new versions of ContiConnect digital tyre management solutions will be featured:

ContiConnect Lite: A cost-effective mobile tyre monitoring solution using Bluetooth.

ContiConnect Pro: A comprehensive system offering tyre health insights via a web portal and mobile app, including real-time alerts and predictive maintenance.

Sustainability Innovations

Continental will also highlight several sustainability-focused innovations:

• Tough RuNR Air Springs: Made from high-performance EPDM rubber, these springs reduce the carbon footprint by over 50% while maintaining performance.
• Sustainable Bus Tyre: Features low rolling resistance, high recycled material content, and compatibility with electric vehicles (EVs).
• Advanced Thermal Management: Solutions for battery-electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles.

Autonomous Trucking Collaboration

In collaboration with Aurora, Continental will introduce its scalable Level 4 autonomous trucking system, with production slated to begin in 2027. The display will include details on the industrial fall-back system designed to maintain safety in case of primary system failures.

Road Safety Products

Continental’s road safety offerings include:

• Smart Tachograph (V2) DTCO 4.1: A global tachograph solution to enforce EU Mobility Package regulations.
• VDO Link: A plug-and-play solution for reliable data services.New Truck
