Expected to serve 3.6 lakh passengers daily.
Over 2,500 jobs to be created.
Buses allocated across MP, Odisha, Chhattisgarh & Meghalaya.
Expansion planned in 7 states and union territories.
Chartered Speed and EKA Mobility have partnered to deploy 1,135 electric buses across India under the Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Sewa Scheme. The companies had earlier secured the Letter of Confirmation of Quantity (LOCQ) for 900 buses and have now added another 235 to the order.
The full deployment is expected to benefit over 3.6 lakh passengers daily while creating more than 2,500 jobs, contributing to both green mobility and local economic growth. Chartered Speed will procure, operate, and maintain the buses across different states:
Madhya Pradesh – 110 buses
Odisha – 60 buses
Chhattisgarh – 35 buses
Meghalaya – 30 buses
The partnership brings together Chartered Speed’s operational expertise and EKA Mobility’s EV manufacturing capabilities to promote sustainable and accessible urban transport.
Speaking about the development, Sanyam Gandhi, Whole-Time Director, Chartered Speed, said:
“This allocation, combined with our collaboration with EKA Mobility, reflects our commitment to building reliable solutions that ease commuting and contribute to India’s green mobility mission.”
Adding to this, Rohit Srivastava, Business Head & Chief Growth Officer, EKA Mobility, said:
“With this deployment, every bus becomes a step towards reimagining India’s cities as smarter, greener, and more people-centric.”
Chartered Speed plans to further expand its electric bus operations across seven states and union territories – Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Meghalaya, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh. The collaboration aims to make eco-friendly, reliable, and inclusive intra-city transport a reality for India’s growing cities.
