Bajaj Auto has launched the WEGO electric three-wheeler range in India. The new lineup targets both passenger and cargo transport needs. Bajaj claims this is one of the largest EV three-wheeler portfolios in the country. The launch includes five entries and seven variants, each designed for specific mobility requirements.

WEGO Variants and Claimed Ranges

The WEGO range is divided into four main categories: P50, P70, P90, and C90. Each category addresses different transportation needs for urban, semi-urban, and cargo use.

The P50 line features two models. The P5009 offers a claimed range of 213 kilometers, while the P5012 provides 272 kilometers. These are intended for intra-city travel.

The P70 line is designed for semi-urban mobility. The P7009 has a claimed range of 182 kilometers, and the P7012 can travel up to 259 kilometers.

The P90 line offers the highest range. The P9018 variant claims a range of 296 kilometers, which Bajaj states is the longest in its segment.

The C90 line focuses on cargo transport. The P9009 variant has a claimed range of 149 kilometers, while the P9012 offers 207 kilometers. These models are built for last-mile delivery and freight movement.

Battery, Performance, and Features

The WEGO series uses battery packs in three sizes: 9.2 kWh, 12.1 kWh, and 17.7 kWh. All models feature regenerative braking for energy recovery and updated battery management systems for efficiency. The new platform offers larger exterior and interior dimensions, increasing both passenger space and cargo capacity.

Passenger variants provide more seating and improved legroom for drivers. Cargo models have enhanced loading capacities. The vehicles have a gradeability rating between 33% and 36%, with a climb mode for hill ascents. Hill hold assist and a two-speed transmission help manage torque under load.

Standard features include Bluetooth, a digital LCD cluster, and USB charging. Connected features such as geofence alerts, theft alerts, trip data, and real-time fleet tracking are available. Parking sensors and navigation assist with reversing and speed limit detection.

Safety features include a fully independent suspension and hydraulic brakes. Additional amenities are dual-tone seat covers, LED headlights, cup holders, and grab handles.

Bajaj offers a factory warranty of five years or 1.2 lakh kilometers. Selected variants have battery warranties up to six years or 1.5 lakh kilometers.
