Atul Auto April 2025 Sales Report: EV Growth Balances Domestic Decline

Atul Auto Limited, a prominent three-wheeler manufacturer, has announced its sales figures for April 2025. The company sold a total of 1,725 units (domestic and export combined), showing a small growth of 1.95% compared to 1,692 units sold in April 2024. Atul Auto Limited manufactures three-wheelers for both passenger and cargo use across domestic and international markets. Its headquarters are located in Shapar (Veraval), Rajkot.

Domestic Market Shows Decline

Despite the overall rise, domestic sales saw a drop. In April 2025, the company's domestic sales in India reached 1,427 units. This is a 13.30% decrease from the 1,646 units sold in April 2024.

IC Engine Segment Faces Major Drop

The internal combustion engine three-wheeler segment of Atul Auto reported a significant drop in domestic sales. In April 2025, sales of IC vehicles dropped to 902 units, reflecting a significant 25.02% decline compared to 1,203 units sold in April 2024. However, when exports are included, the drop in this segment was less at 4.88%.

Electric Vehicle Sales on the Rise

While the IC engine segment struggled, electric vehicle (EV) sales show a different result:

  • EV-L3 category: Sales grew by 14.55%, reaching 488 units, up from 426 units in April 2024.
  • EV-L5 category: This segment recorded a strong 117.65% rise in domestic sales, increasing from 17 units in April 2024 to 37 units in April 2025.

Exports Help Balance Domestic Shortfall

Though the company did not break down its export numbers separately, the difference between total and domestic sales suggests exports played an important role in supporting overall performance. This support was especially noticeable in the IC engine category, which would have shown a sharper decline without exports.

Atul Greentech Private Limited also reported significant progress. It sold 49 EV-L5 vehicles in April 2025, compared to 17 units in April 2024. This marks a growth of 188.24%.

Market Trends and Industry Shifts

The decline in domestic IC engine vehicle sales reflects a larger picture. Factors like rising interest in electric options, changes in regulations, and a shift in consumer choices are likely influencing market demand. Meanwhile, Atul Auto’s growth in the electric segments shows that it is adapting to these changes and preparing for the future.

The April report follows a successful March 2025 for Atul Auto, when it reported sales of 3,693 units—a year-on-year rise of 18.06%. While April numbers were mixed, they reflect the ongoing changes in India’s auto industry.
