Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group's Indian flagship and one of the country's largest commercial vehicle manufacturers, launched the "Sarathi Suraksha Policy," an insurance coverage designed to protect the driver community. This policy aims to provide protection and support to the driver community.
Shenu Agarwal, Ashok Leyland's Managing Director and CEO, stated, "This initiative not only demonstrates our commitment to our drivers, but it also aligns with our broader vision of fostering a safe and supportive ecosystem for all our stakeholders."
Coverage Details
Effective from June 1, 2024, this insurance policy will be applicable to all new Intermediate Commercial Vehicles (ICV), Haulage, and Long Haulage trucks sold from that date onwards. The policy is offered at no extra cost to the customers.
The 'Sarathi Suraksha Policy' offers coverage up to Rs 10 lakh per chassis for:
• Accidental death
• Permanent disability
• Partial disability
In addition to these, the policy also covers:
• Accidental hospitalization
• Special education bonus for the driver's children
The 'Sarathi Suraksha Policy' is also known as a "Unnamed GPA (Group Personal Accident) Policy," which covers any driver operating an Ashok Leyland vehicle and provides full coverage to the drivers.

We appreciate the value of the driving community, and with this insurance coverage, we intend to improve their quality of life even more."
