Ashok Leyland launches three new air suspension heavy trucks.
New models include AVTR 4525, 4625, and 4925 MAV.
Payload increases by up to 4 tonnes depending on conditions.
Air suspension improves stability, ride comfort, and tyre life.
Standard features include Intelligent Acceleration and Traction Control.
Ashok Leyland has expanded its heavy commercial vehicle portfolio by launching a new range of air suspension-equipped multi-axle trucks for high-capacity freight transportation. The company has introduced three new models under its AVTR platform, the AVTR 4925 10x2 MAV, AVTR 4625 10x2 MAV, and AVTR 4525 8x2 MAV-to meet the growing demand for efficient and productive long-haul logistics.
The newly launched trucks are available in 45-tonne, 46-tonne, and 49-tonne Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) categories and are designed to deliver higher payload capacity, improved ride comfort, and lower operating costs for fleet operators.
Model | Configuration | GVW Category | Key Benefit |
AVTR 4525 MAV | 8x2 | 45 Tonnes | Up to 4-tonne higher payload* |
AVTR 4625 MAV | 10x2 | 46 Tonnes | Up to 4-tonne higher payload* |
AVTR 4925 MAV | 10x2 | 49 Tonnes | 1.5-tonne higher payload* |
*Payload improvement depends on operating conditions.
According to Ashok Leyland, the biggest advantage of the new range comes from its air suspension technology, which is lighter than conventional leaf-spring suspension systems. The lower vehicle weight allows operators to carry more cargo without exceeding legal weight limits.
The AVTR 4925 offers an additional 1.5 tonnes of payload capacity, while the AVTR 4625 and AVTR 4525 provide a payload advantage of up to 4 tonnes, depending on operating conditions. This increase in payload can help transporters move more goods in every trip, improving fleet productivity and revenue potential.
Apart from carrying more cargo, the air suspension system also improves vehicle performance and durability. Ashok Leyland says the suspension reduces chassis vibrations and road shocks, providing better stability even when the truck is fully loaded.
The improved shock absorption helps smooth out road undulations, enhances driving comfort, and can also extend tyre life by reducing uneven wear. These benefits are expected to contribute to lower maintenance costs and improved overall operating efficiency for fleet owners.
To suit different transportation requirements, Ashok Leyland is offering the new truck range in both bare cowl and fully built cabin options. Customers can also choose from multiple loading span lengths, allowing fleets to customize vehicles according to their cargo and business needs.
The new AVTR trucks come equipped with several technologies aimed at improving efficiency and safety, including:
Intelligent Vehicle Acceleration Control for better fuel efficiency
Automatic Traction Control to reduce wheel slip on different road conditions
Air suspension for improved stability and ride comfort
Multiple body configuration options for various freight applications
These features are designed to enhance vehicle performance across varied terrain while helping operators reduce fuel consumption and improve productivity.
Commenting on the launch, Shenu Agarwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ashok Leyland, said the new air suspension truck range has been introduced to help fleet operators improve productivity and increase operational profitability.
Sanjeev Kumar, President – Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles, added that the new models have been developed to address the industry's growing demand for better stability, improved shock absorption, higher payload capacity, and a lower total cost of ownership.

With the launch of its new AVTR 4525, AVTR 4625, and AVTR 4925 air suspension trucks, Ashok Leyland is strengthening its presence in the heavy commercial vehicle segment. The combination of higher payload capacity, improved ride quality, advanced driver-assistance features, and flexible configurations makes these trucks a strong option for fleet operators looking to improve efficiency, reduce operating costs, and maximize profitability in high-capacity freight transport.
