Ashok Leyland partners with FAMCO Qatar to enter the Qatari market.
Full range of buses, trucks, and electric buses launched.
Partnership extends Ashok Leyland’s Middle East presence after Saudi Arabia.
Focus on durability, efficiency, and total cost of ownership.
FAMCO to manage distribution, service, and after-sales support.
Ashok Leyland, one of India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, has officially entered the Qatari market through a new partnership with FAMCO Qatar, a subsidiary of the Al-Futtaim Group. The launch event took place on 19 November 2025 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.
This partnership marks Ashok Leyland’s second collaboration with the Al-Futtaim Group in the Gulf region. The first partnership was established in Saudi Arabia with FAMCO KSA in 2024.
With this expansion, Ashok Leyland aims to provide Qatari customers with a wide range of vehicles that match the country's growing transportation and infrastructure needs.
Ashok Leyland will offer its complete commercial vehicle lineup in Qatar. This includes:
Falcon and Oyster buses, built with a focus on passenger safety and comfort
Boss and Partner trucks, suitable for light and medium-duty operations
A dedicated range for fleet operators, logistics companies, small and medium businesses, and public transport services
The company highlighted its vehicles’ strengths in durability, fuel efficiency, and competitive total cost of ownership, making them suitable for Qatar’s demanding commercial needs.
A major highlight of the launch is the introduction of Ashok Leyland’s electric bus range. This move supports Qatar’s increasing focus on sustainable mobility solutions and cleaner public transportation.
Rajesh R, Head of International Operations at Ashok Leyland, stated that this expansion builds on the company’s strong presence across Middle Eastern markets. He emphasized that customers in Qatar will benefit from FAMCO Qatar’s well-established service network and after-sales support.
Ramez Hamdan, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Industrial Equipment, noted that the timing aligns with Qatar’s ongoing infrastructure development projects. FAMCO Qatar will oversee distribution, customer support, and maintenance services for Ashok Leyland vehicles.
FAMCO Qatar is a part of the Al-Futtaim Group, offering commercial vehicles, construction equipment, and industrial solutions across the country. The company operates service facilities and parts distribution networks to support its customers.
Ashok Leyland, the commercial vehicle flagship of the Hinduja Group, has over 75 years of experience in building buses and trucks for both domestic and international markets.
