Montra Electric, the electric mobility arm of the 125-year-old Murugappa Group, has strengthened its presence in Northeast India by opening a new exclusive electric three-wheeler dealership in Silchar, Assam. The dealership has been launched in partnership with Sunbird Super Energy Private Limited.

New Dealership Opens on Sonai Road

The new Silchar dealership is strategically located on Sonai Road and will offer Montra Electric’s SUPER AUTO (Passenger) and SUPER CARGO (Load Carrier) models. These electric three-wheelers are designed to offer long range, strong performance, and lower operating costs for daily drivers, fleet owners, and last-mile mobility operators.

The facility includes a dedicated service bay, trained technicians, and immediate spare parts availability to ensure fast and reliable after-sales service for customers.

Launch Attended by Key Leaders

The inauguration event was attended by important leaders from Assam, including:

• Shri Khalin Uddin Mazumdar, MLA (Katigorah)

• Shri Karim Uddin Barbhaya, MLA (Sonai)

Assam is rapidly adopting electric mobility; over 85% of new three-wheelers sold in the state are already electric, making it the first Indian state on track to achieve 100% electric three-wheeler adoption. This trend highlights the region’s growing interest in clean last-mile transportation.
