Ashok Leyland has extended its partnership as the principal sponsor of the Mumbai Indians Women’s Team for the third year, reinforcing its commitment to women’s sports. This partnership aligns with the company’s efforts to promote gender inclusion in different fields. Apart from sports sponsorship, Ashok Leyland has taken steps to support gender diversity in its workforce. The company has introduced policies like flexible work options for returning mothers, a Sabbatical policy for family care, and the ‘Redream – Welcome Back’ program to help women restart their careers. In manufacturing,
Ashok Leyland has set up a ‘Women-Centric Cabin Trim Line’ at its Pantnagar plant and an ‘All-Women Production Line’ at its Hosur facility, where women are trained to handle engine production. In addition, through its partnership with the Delhi Government’s Mission Parivartan, the company has trained 180 women, many of whom are now employed as bus drivers with the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC).
As part of its Women’s Day initiatives, Ashok Leyland released a social media film in collaboration with Mumbai Indians. The film showcases the determination of young girls and women cricketers, focusing on their resilience and ambition. Through its corporate social responsibility initiative, ‘Road to School,’ the company has also supported young girls by offering academic and co-scholastic opportunities to help them reach their educational goals.
