JCB India, India's leading manufacturer of earthmoving and construction equipment, has rolled out its 500,000th construction equipment from its factories in the country. The event was held at the company’s India Headquarters in Ballabgarh and attended by JCB’s Group Chairman, Lord Bamford.
He remarked, "India is now one of the world's strongest economies. Over the last decade, there has been a tremendous focus on infrastructure development, and we are glad to have contributed to this expansion with our equipment”.
JCB has been a part of India’s growth story since 1979 and its goods are employed for infrastructure development around the country. With six production plants in India, JCB exports 'Made in India' machines to more than 130 countries.
India now plays a vital role in JCB’s global business, serving as one of its largest markets and contributing to the global supply chain. The company has been continuously investing in India since 1979 when it established its first factory here in Ballabgarh.
The 500,000th machine, a Telehandler, is a multipurpose material-handling machine. According to the company's press release, it is a revolutionary new technique to handle material at heights that is safer and more productive than old methods.
Lord Bamford expressed his pride in being a part of India’s strong economy. He remarked, "India is now one of the world's strongest economies. Over the last decade, there has been a tremendous focus on infrastructure development, and we are glad to have contributed to this expansion with our equipment."

This versatile equipment has made work sites safer and more productive with its superior design and engineering. JCB’s Jaipur manufacturing plant has 34% women on the shop floor and the Vadodara facility, which opened in 2022, has over 52% women. According to the statement, the company's design center in Pune employs over 700 engineers who work on both domestic and worldwide projects.
