JCB India retained its strong leadership position with 3,728 units sold in October 2025, compared to 5,054 units a year earlier. The company’s market share rose to 64.62%, up from 60.90% in October 2024. Despite lower overall volumes, JCB’s strong after-sales network and dominance in the backhoe loader category helped sustain its leading position.
ACE ranked second with 453 units sold, lower than 708 units in October 2024. The company’s market share stood at 7.85%, slightly down from 8.53% last year. The decline was due to weak demand for cranes and pick-and-carry machines as major projects were delayed across several regions.
Escorts Kubota registered 314 units sold in October 2025, compared to 447 units last year. Its market share improved marginally to 5.44% from 5.39%. The brand maintained steady sales in northern and western regions, supported by ongoing construction and material handling demand.
AJAX Engineering recorded 275 units sold, compared to 371 units in October 2024. Its market share rose slightly to 4.77% from 4.47%. The company faced challenges in the concrete equipment segment due to slower progress in real estate and infrastructure projects during the monsoon season.
Caterpillar reported 106 units sold, down from 194 units last year. Its market share dropped to 1.84% from 2.34%. The brand’s premium equipment faced subdued demand due to reduced large-scale construction and mining activity.
Tata Hitachi sold 129 units in October 2025, compared to 168 units in October 2024. The company’s market share increased slightly to 2.24% from 2.02% last year. Despite lower volumes, Tata Hitachi remained stable in the excavator segment with steady demand from industrial and infrastructure projects.
The All Terrain Crane category recorded 94 units sold in October 2025, a strong rise from 67 units a year earlier. Its market share increased to 1.63% from 0.81%. The growth came from higher demand in port development and industrial lifting projects.
Bull Machines reported 94 units sold, down from 144 units in October 2024. The company held a 1.63% market share, slightly lower than 1.74% last year. The demand remained stable in southern India, supported by smaller infrastructure and rural construction projects.
CASE India sold 93 units in October 2025, compared to 173 units last year. Its market share fell to 1.61% from 2.08%. The decline was mainly due to weaker institutional orders and limited leasing activity in urban markets.
The “Others” category, which includes smaller and emerging OEMs with less than 1% market share, collectively sold 483 units, compared to 973 units a year earlier. Their total market share dropped to 8.37% from 11.72%, showing a reduction in sales from small-scale manufacturers and new market entrants.
The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) highlighted that the data for October 2025 was collated as of November 4, 2025, in collaboration with the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India. The report includes data from 1,400 out of 1,458 RTOs, and excludes figures from Telangana (TS).
“Others” include OEMs with less than 1% market share.

The construction equipment segment witnessed a slowdown in October 2025, primarily due to extended monsoon conditions and delayed infrastructure projects. Despite the overall decline, JCB India continued its dominance, holding more than 64% market share.
While most brands reported year-on-year declines, segments like All Terrain Cranes showed resilience and growth. Industry experts expect a gradual recovery as weather conditions improve and government-led infrastructure projects resume, driving future equipment demand.
