India’s construction equipment (CE) retail market recorded total sales of 5,820 units in December 2025, compared to 7,145 units in December 2024, as per FADA Research. The latest data highlights strong leadership by JCB India, steady gains by select OEMs, and a decline in overall volumes on a year-on-year basis.
The construction equipment industry saw lower retail volumes in December 2025 compared to the same month last year. Despite the volume drop, market leadership remained unchanged, with top players continuing to dominate a large share of total sales. The data also shows shifting market shares among mid-sized and emerging OEMs.

JCB retained its dominant position by selling 3,077 units in December 2025. The company improved its market share to 52.87%, up from 51.71% last year, reinforcing its leadership in the Indian CE market.
ACE reported 589 units in December 2025. Its market share increased to 10.12% from 9.78%, reflecting stable demand across its construction equipment portfolio.
Ajax sold 408 units, registering a notable rise in market share to 7.01% from 5.26% in December 2024, making it one of the stronger gainers during the month.
Escorts Kubota recorded 376 units in December 2025. Its market share rose to 6.46%, compared to 6.21% a year ago, indicating steady performance despite lower volumes.
CASE New Holland sold 177 units, improving its market share to 3.04% from 2.34%, supported by consistent demand in select equipment categories.
Tata Hitachi reported 141 units in December 2025. Its market share stood at 2.42%, slightly lower than 2.46% in December 2024.
All Terrain Crane registered 111 units, with market share declining to 1.91% from 2.81%, reflecting reduced sales momentum.
Bull Machines sold 107 units in December 2025. Its market share dropped to 1.84%, compared to 2.42% last year.
Caterpillar recorded 87 units, with market share falling to 1.49% from 2.30%, indicating a slower month in retail activity.
SANY sold 86 units, showing strong improvement in market share to 1.48% from 0.49%, marking one of the sharpest percentage gains among OEMs.
Schwing Stetter reported 66 units, with market share easing to 1.13% from 1.72% in December 2024.
OEMs with less than 1% individual market share together accounted for 595 units. Their combined market share declined to 10.22% from 12.48%, showing increasing concentration among leading brands.
The December 2025 construction equipment retail data reflects market consolidation at the top, led firmly by JCB India. While overall industry volumes declined year-on-year, brands such as Ajax Engineering, ACE, CASE New Holland, Escorts Kubota, and SANY managed to improve their market share. The trend indicates selective demand, rising competition among mid-tier OEMs, and continued dominance of established leaders.
