The wait of crores of Indian farmers is about to end. The 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) is expected to be released in the last week of June or the first week of July 2025. But this time, the government has made e-KYC mandatory for all beneficiaries. If you have not completed your e-KYC yet, your installment might get delayed or stuck.

The PM Kisan Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February 2019. Under this scheme, the government gives ₹6,000 per year to eligible farmers, which is transferred in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each. The goal of the scheme is to provide income support to small and marginal farmers.
The 20th installment is expected in late June or early July 2025, though the government has not officially confirmed the exact date. Earlier this year, in February 2025, the 19th installment was released, where about ₹22,000 crore was credited to the bank accounts of 9.8 crore farmers.
So, if we follow the past pattern, farmers should be receiving the next installment soon. However, e-KYC is now compulsory to receive this payment.
To avoid fraud and ensure that the benefit goes directly to the rightful farmer, the government has made e-KYC mandatory. It helps link your Aadhaar number directly with your PM Kisan account. If e-KYC is not completed, your installment may get delayed or even rejected.
Here are three easy ways to complete e-KYC for PM Kisan:
1. Online through the PM-KISAN website:
Visit pmkisan.gov.in
Click on e-KYC on the top right
Enter your Aadhaar number
Submit the OTP sent to your registered mobile number
2. Visit a CSC (Common Service Centre):
Go to the nearest CSC center with your Aadhaar card and registered mobile number
The CSC operator will do your e-KYC through biometric verification
You can find the nearest CSC center at locator.csccloud.in
3. Through the PM-KISAN Mobile App:
Download PM-KISAN and AadhaarFaceRD from the Play Store
Open the app and login with your registered mobile number
Go to the 'Beneficiary Status' page and click on e-KYC
Enter Aadhaar number and complete face scan
e-KYC status will be updated within 24 hours
Once the government releases the 20th installment, follow these steps to check your status:
Visit the PM-KISAN website
Click on ‘Know Your Status’ under Farmers Corner
Enter your Aadhaar number or mobile number
Your installment status will be shown on the screen
