Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced that women beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna Yojana will receive ₹1,500 in their bank accounts ahead of the Rakshabandhan festival. This special announcement was made during his Ujjain visit, aimed at spreading joy and financial support to women before the celebration on 9 August 2025.

₹1,500 to be transferred on 7 August 2025

The Madhya Pradesh government will transfer the 27th installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana on 7 August. While the usual monthly support is ₹1,250, this time the amount has been increased by ₹250 as a Rakshabandhan gift, bringing the total to ₹1,500.

This step has been taken so that the Ladli sisters can celebrate Rakshabandhan with happiness and dignity, supported by financial aid from the state government.

Government’s Aim: Empowerment Through Financial Support

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that this financial assistance is more than just monetary aid. It is a symbol of the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment, self-respect, and well-being. The additional amount is meant to ease the financial burden on women during the festival season, allowing them to manage household needs, health, and children’s education with confidence.

What is Ladli Behna Yojana?

The Ladli Behna Yojana is a major welfare scheme launched by the Madhya Pradesh government on 5 March 2023 by then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Its goal is to help women become financially self-reliant and improve their health, nutrition, and education.

Key Features of Ladli Behna Yojana

  • Initially, eligible women received ₹1,000 per month.

  • The monthly aid was later increased to ₹1,250.

  • For Rakshabandhan 2025, women will receive ₹1,500 as a special installment.

  • The scheme benefits married women aged 21 to 60 years whose annual family income is less than ₹2.5 lakh.

  • The money is directly transferred to beneficiaries' bank accounts via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

  • Women can apply online via the CM Ladli Behna App or Panchayat offices, though currently, new applications are not being accepted. However, the government may restart the application process in the future.

CM’s Statement on the Rakshabandhan Gift

CM Mohan Yadav said, “This gift before Rakshabandhan is a step towards making our Ladli sisters feel valued and empowered. It’s not just financial help but an emotional gesture of respect and care for our women.” He added that many women have become financially independent through this scheme and use the funds for daily needs, health, and education.

The additional ₹250 bonus will offer extra relief to women during the festive season and help them celebrate Rakshabandhan with joy and pride.
