Only eligible women will receive the 13th installment.
Check name via the Nari Shakti app or local centers.
Re-verification ongoing; eligible names may return.
Ladli Behna Yojana, one of the most popular women's welfare schemes, has seen a major shake-up in Maharashtra. Over 26 lakh 34 thousand beneficiaries have been declared ineligible under the state-run version of the scheme called Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. This update has left many women in doubt about their future benefits, while fraudulent beneficiaries, including over 14,000 men, have been exposed.
According to Maharashtra’s Women and Child Development Department, a detailed investigation revealed massive misuse of the scheme. Out of the ineligible beneficiaries, many were:
Men fraudulently enrolled as beneficiaries.
Financially well-off women exceeding the income limit.
Women above 65 years of age.
Women with government jobs.
For instance, Nagpur district alone reported 61,146 ineligible cases. In some families, multiple women had applied for benefits, violating the rule that only one woman per family is eligible.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has confirmed that strict action will be taken. The state will recover the funds from ineligible beneficiaries, especially those who joined the scheme using fake documents or misinformation. If they fail to return the money, legal action will follow.
Women holding government jobs and found to be ineligible have already been removed from the list. Ajit Pawar also assured that the review process will continue, and more names may be removed if found ineligible.
The 13th installment of the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana will be given only to eligible women. Those declared ineligible will not receive any further payments, and previous amounts will be recovered.
As of now, the Maharashtra government has not confirmed the release date for the 13th installment. Eligible women are advised to remain patient and keep checking their status regularly.

To continue receiving the benefits of this scheme, it is crucial to meet these conditions:
The annual family income should be less than ₹2.5 lakh.
The woman should be between 18 to 65 years of age.
The bank account must be linked to Aadhaar and PAN.
Only one woman per family is eligible for the benefit.
Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare confirmed that 26.34 lakh women have been temporarily excluded from the scheme. These names have been sent to the respective District Magistrates for re-verification. If found eligible, they will be reinstated, but until then, payments are paused.
Women enrolled under the Ladli Bahna Yojana, Maharashtra, should regularly check their names in the updated beneficiary list to confirm their eligibility for the next installment.
Download the Nari Shakti app from the Google Play Store.
Log in using your mobile number and OTP.
On the dashboard, click on “Check Beneficiary List”.
View the list and verify your name.
Visit your nearest Gram Panchayat or Setu Suvidha Kendra. Provide your Aadhaar number or reference number to the official to check your name in the list.
If your name has been wrongly excluded despite meeting all the eligibility conditions, you can:
Visit the District Women and Child Development Office.
Check your status on the official website of the scheme.
Request a re-verification of your eligibility.
The government has assured that all wrongly excluded names will be reviewed, and eligible women will be added back.

The removal of 26.34 lakh beneficiaries from the Ladli Behna Yojana in Maharashtra has created concern among genuine beneficiaries. While the government is taking strong action against fraudulent claims, it is equally committed to ensuring that eligible women continue to receive benefits. All women enrolled in the scheme should check their names online or offline to stay updated and avoid missing the next installment.
