Under the Ladli Behna Yojana, women earlier received ₹1,250 per month. Last month, the government increased the financial aid to ₹1,500 per month. This time, the Chief Minister transferred ₹1,857 crore to beneficiaries accounts, bringing relief and happiness to women across the state.
The Ladli Behna Yojana was launched a few months before the 2023 assembly elections by former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is now the Union Agriculture Minister. Over time, the scheme has become hugely successful, inspiring similar programs in other states such as:
Majhi Ladki Behna Yojana – Maharashtra
Lado Laxmi Yojana – Haryana
Mainiya Samman Yojana – Jharkhand
All these schemes follow the same model of direct financial transfer to women.
The scheme initially started with ₹1,000 per month, which later increased to ₹1,250 and now ₹1,500. The state government plans to increase the amount regularly, and by 2028, women are expected to receive ₹3,000 per month under Ladli Behna.
Additionally, women enrolled in the scheme can also benefit from the government’s housing scheme, providing further financial support to poor and needy families.
