24th installment to be released between May 10–15, 2025.
Date changed from 10th to 15th for better fund management.
Over 25 lakh women to get the cylinder refill amount too.
₹1,250 monthly aid will continue as confirmed by the minister.
The scheme is not for women with taxable income or govt job family.
The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a major change in the Ladli Behna Yojana that affects the release date of the 24th installment. This change was discussed in the recent cabinet meeting and will now impact crores of women across the state who are part of the scheme.

Under the earlier schedule, the installment was transferred to the bank accounts of beneficiaries by the 10th of every month. However, during the latest cabinet meeting, it was decided that the installment will now be released around the 15th of every month. This change has been made to ensure the timely and smooth disbursement of funds to the sisters enrolled in the scheme.
As per recent estimates, the 24th installment of Ladli Behna Yojana is expected to be released between 10th and 15th May 2025. The exact date has not been officially announced yet, but beneficiaries may receive the funds by May 15. Along with the installment, more than 25 lakh women will also receive the cylinder refill amount on the same day.
The reason behind this change is financial planning. Every month, the Madhya Pradesh government requires over ₹1,500 crore to run the Ladli Behna Yojana. Recently, the state also increased the dearness allowance for government employees and pensioners, adding more pressure on the budget.
To support these expenses, the state depends on central tax funds from the Union Budget, which are released in 14 installments every year. These funds arrive around the 10th of each month. So, the government has decided to wait for these funds before releasing the installment amount, which is why the date has been shifted to around the 15th.
There were rumors that the scheme might be stopped after the 23rd installment was released on April 16. However, Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya confirmed that the Ladli Behna Yojana will continue. He assured that the monthly installment of ₹1,250 will be transferred between the 10th and 16th of each month going forward.
Not all women are eligible under this scheme. Here are the key conditions that disqualify a woman from receiving benefits:
If any family member pays income tax, the woman is ineligible.
Families owning more than 5 acres of land are not eligible.
Annual family income must be below ₹2.5 lakh.
If any family member has a government job, the woman cannot apply.
Ownership of a tractor or four-wheeler disqualifies the family.
Women aged above 60 are not eligible.
If a woman already receives less than ₹1,250 under another pension scheme, only the difference will be paid under this scheme.
Women whose family members are MPs, MLAs, or hold government posts are not eligible.
If a woman's husband is not eligible for government schemes, she is also disqualified.
The Ladli Behna Yojana was launched in May 2023 by the then Chief Minister and current Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The first installment was released on 10 June 2023, and it was initially planned that future installments would also be given out on the 10th of every month. This date has now been revised due to funding logistics.

The Ladli Behna Yojana continues to be an important financial support for millions of women in Madhya Pradesh. The new installment date is aimed at making the process more reliable and regular.
